Gravity Fusion by Steffo
A colorful incremental game
About
Welcome to Gravity Fusion, the best physics simulator in the galaxy!
Well... Maybe not the best in the Milky Way, but the best in your galaxy!
In Gravity Fusion you'll create your own galaxy, starting from the black hole at the center and then slowly adding Particles around it!
All Particles are affected by the Law of Universal Gravitation, and so they attract each other, and are attracted towards the black hole.
If 6 Particles of the same quality touch, they merge into a heavier, higher quality Particle that may autonomously produce smaller Particles.
Be careful: the black hole can eat your particles, gaining more Mass!
However, if you let your black hole grow, you may be able to buy some upgrades from a friendly alien...
Will you be able to reach the biggest Particle of them all?

Pluses :
- Addictive and simple gameplay that keeps you coming back for more
- Well-balanced upgrades prices
- The ...twist ?
- Nice background track
Possible improvements :
- The start is a bit slow, but I guess that necessary for all these games. I also had some issues with the anti-grav field (does not seem to work well on high mass particles, even fully upgraded)
All in all, great job !
Anyway, thanks for the game !
Once I figured out there was a upgrade system, my wrist was very thankful. I encountered no bugs and there was no lag until I reached about 100-ish particle. Overall, a very smooth and almost complete experience.
Next steps I would say would maybe get distortion animation/effects near the black hole. Ngl, it sort of drops the otherwise polished experience when my mom (cheeky) just vanishes into nothingness. Gameplay wise, maybe the ability to make our own black holes (unless I missed it) and have black holes orbit around each other and merge. Cue in the famous pop sound and I'd give you a 5/5 audio :D
Anyways, thanks for playing our game and for leaving a comment!
It was planned as an upgrade, but while testing, I found out that the physics got pretty weird while it was activated, so we ended up not adding it.
I think the decay system we developed (small particles disappear over time if there are higher tier particles present) was a good trick to reduce massively the lag, as emulating gravity is quite expensive `O(n²)`...
Huh? "Your mom"s aren't supposed to vanish into nothing, they merge into a Tier 8 Particle three times as large (with this sprite )...
Yours probably was so large and so close to the black hole taht it got immediatly eaten :P ...
I got it to cap out at a mass of 1M. Some performance hits once I started spamming particles everywhere.

Since computing gravity is expensive, we have a decay system in place that despawn small astray particles, but since you spawned them almost everywhere without getting to an higher tier, no particles decayed, causing a quadratically-growing lag :P
Sometimes game very slooooowwwww down, because of many calculations maybe.
The art of the game was so nice to look at. What felt like the biggest achievement was when I got some particles orbiting the black hole. If this game was more about such balance, it would have been more fun!
