The Voodoo Slaughterhouse by squirrelsoft

[raw]
made by squirrelsoft for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Bacon Samedi is currently trapped in his nemesis : a Voodoo Slaughterhouse !! Help him escape this maze.

This building (surely build on top of an Indian burial ground) is preventing our hero from going through walls and doors and is cancelling almost all his powers. His last hope is to take control of innocent pigs to open himself a way to the outside.

Controls: * Arrows keys : Pig horizontal movement / Mask horizontal and vertical movement * Space : Jump * X : Take control of an innocent pig / Release an innocent pig * E : Clear "released" pig from the path

Can you later on make so you dont stick to the walls when you hit them, btw neat game. But how does this fit to the theme. Plz play and rate my game too https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/the-slime-slayer

@evepto Oh you know, when you are a cute piggy in a cruel slaughterhouse you have really nothing, not even hope :/

Also, as bacon samedi you have only limited powers in this maze (just the power to possess piggy souls), you have no way out... Even when you control a piggy, you don't have enough platform to complete each area... I hope you found some ways to escape this nightmare.

Interesting entry, I liked the setting and the mood a lot but I had issues with the overall collision and movement systems. If they were improved to make the game a bit more smoother and easier to play you could have a real good puzzle game here. Well done, good job!

Quite a nightmarish situation and a neat game! I liked the graphics and the color choice really added to all the doom and gloom. Great job on the game!

What an interesting concept! It would be good for LD43: Sacrifices must be made too. Controls and collisions were a bit off, but I was able to escape all the levels anyway.

I enjoyed this quite a bit, the particle effects were nice, and the atmosphere was fantastic. It's a really creative idea! I agree with the other commenters here about collisions being a bit off, I found myself getting stuck on piles of corpses if I got to close. Regardless, really cool game!

We really appreciate your feedbacks and we will try some modifications on physics ;)

@flying-dog-fish my time machine is broken right now :/, but we already made a game for LD43 if you want to check it : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/grandpa-tell-me-about

I have seen a lot of weird games this year, but this game definitely takes the game. Great job on the atmosphere!

Also: having the "Run game" button say "Run and save yourself" instead was a nice touch.

The mechanics need a little fixing, but over all it was very entertaining. The music was my absolute favorite part. Nice job :)

Wow, that's pretty dark... But I love it! Great aesthetics, awesome music, well explained controls, overall very good! Just the physics were a little buggy. Congrats! :)
