Space Janitor by Emty

[raw]
made by Emty for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

These is our first game at all. At start we have literally nothing except one guy who knows C#, 3 Web Developers and one 3D Artist. There is a lot of stuff that we wish to add, but at least we get most of mechanics and graphics.

Definitely a cool concept for a game, and it worked fairly well. The controls were a bit awkward, and I wish there was feedback (sound and graphics) for hitting things. But pretty cool!

I immediately jumped at this one, assuming it was a Space Quest game.
I like the implementation of the theme, having to initially collect your weapons was interesting.
The controls were a bit tough, I thought it was more like Asteroids controls at first.
I'd suggest some visual queues to give the players immediate hints on what each piece of debris function is, and maybe a short tutorial.

Nice graphics! It was initially a bit confusing as to what I had to pick up but it was cool collecting the parts! I think some sounds would be a next good step :)

Dude for a first game this is amazing. Still disappointed you don't play with an actual janitor tho...

The idea is fun, and the graphics is super cool. The controls is super slow and the game really need some music and sound effects. Overall a fine first game.

Heyo! I agree with my fellas here! For a first, its a really nice job! I did have fun playing it! If the game had just QWE controls, it would be very intresting to control as well! Great work, and nice graphics. Finally, it would be nice and rewarding if collecting spaceship parts that I had already collected could give me like... more energy or so. P.s: it's a NASA space janitor, isn't it? The only satellites that gave me points were the ones from the former USSR xD

The adding of parts and new mechanics feels really great and I thinks it's a super nice take on the theme. The controls took a while to get used to, first I thought it would control more like the game Asteroids where you accelerate in the direction you are rotated. But after the hang of how to steer the ship and how to shoot I had a fun time shooting satellites and watch the awesome 3d models. Great job on your first game guys!

As others said, some sound, music and feedback would have been great !
And yeah, some political issues in here nah? x)

Great job! I like the idea, that you need to collect ship parts, before the actual game starts.

- Left/richt movement seemed kind of useless, since it seems best, to stay at the left screen side and shoot satellites from there.
- I would have appreciated if, if the difficulty would rise over time, making it impossible to play indefininetely. I like it, when arcade games just become too hard at some point, instead of forcing me to decide, when to quit.

I definitely like it. It is a bit hard to understand the phisics of the game and save enegry, but still very fun.
I ran through some issues when I haven't got any parts of the ship in the beginning and about 15 seconds later nothig spawned at all, no parts, no satellites.

Soviet satellites are so cute!)

I like the idea and assets you designed, at first I found the controls a bit awkward but got used to it, also something that confused me was the first few times I played i would try to pick up the parts and intead they'd just bounce off me, then I'd run out of power becasue I couldn't get the solar panels

Nice idea, I like the idea of a SHMUP where moving costs energy, so you need to turn all the time.
It seems to be the best tactic to just collect a lot of energy at first, and don't shoot at all. Maybe you should punish the player, if he misses to many objects

BTW: what did poor Sputnik do to you, that you hate it so much, and have us shoot it all the time? :/

It is a bit confusing at the beginning and sounds would have been nice but I really liked the idea and had fun trying to survive. Very challenging but fun in the end. Good job.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. We know about sound problem, but we didn't have enough free time to implement it. I hope I will be able to add some soudns into game on this weekend. Also I'll discuss our next steps based on your feedbacks with team. Thanks to all of you for playing)
