Very nice game, the theme is really well done, and i enjoyed a lot the usable notepad in the intro.
If I am to nitpick though, the controls felt a bit weird to me.
Great game overall though

Awesome game! I spent a lot of time with it ;) The first level was a bit hard but other than that really good job!

the setup intro felt realistically frustrating :D nice thinking. The key sounds mentioned already and the typing code was a nice touch :D felt always nice to find an new "feature" and you always anticipated what would come next. I thing my firewall blocked the game because of the name exe.exe but you cleverly had a browser version also. The platforming had a bit too heavy falling for my taste and made me fall down a couple of times but still very enjoyable!

@barracudadisaster thanks for playing and for the feedback. The installation process took longer, but I thought it could be very annoying to have to wait long to play. I tried to put a CRT monitor look on the level, but it wasn't getting too cool. Maybe I use some asset to achieve this effect.

Absolutely Amazing Game, Great graphics, audio and implementation of the idea, the game especially starts to take place when you start the music and add in the background, absolutely amazing game, well done!

That's funny. I like the player anmiations, IDK why, seems dynamic.

Really cool concept for a game. I really liked how you made it so you have to slowly add features to the game, definitely added an extra something to it. There were times that the platforming was a little buggy, but that's just to be expected. Good work nonetheless :)

@bobothegreat Thanks for the feedback. Can you explain buggy how?
I intend to redo player movement and enemy behavior in a future update

@gabrielgamedev I was mostly referring to the hitbox of the character. Like when you jump, your legs sometimes clearly are above the platform, but registers it as the character still being too low. This same thing sometimes makes interacting with enemies a little confusing especially if you're jumping towards them when they're coming towards you, which made me die a few times when it seemed like I was on top of them. It seems like a pretty minor thing, just a little clarity error is all. (I don't know why it posted so many times :///)

@bobothegreat Your comment has been submitted multiple times LoL. I think the Ludum Dare system is a little slow. Oh yes, I get it. Enemy behavior and hit detection is something I want to adjust. Killing the enemies is not very accurate.

Good work. I liked the narrative created.

How the scenario was used in two different ways was a good insight.

Creative overall =]

I really enjoyed this, the death sound on the slimes and player death animation were great. Was cool seeing the world unfold. I opened the game a second time to see if things were implemented for the other icons on the desktop and they were, that is a level of polish that is nice in a jam game.

A smart showcase of the chaotic ptocess of game developing during jams, when you implement things on the go. Nicely done.

Good work. I especially liked the small details such as the 'my dreams' file in the bin. There were a few minor bugs, I could for example load level 3 before level 2 and had to restart, because level 3 was not loading. Overall good game.

@mosaic i'll check that. Things can be unlocked in different orders even the levels, except the first mechanics. But I'll check this

The jump mechanic felt kinda weird at first. I'm used to just one tap buttons, I don't really know why. But actually, it makes it smoother to play this way.

It makes me wonder. Maybe there are other mechanics that would be somewhat improved with this kind of controls "over time", in the lack of a better term.

I've seen the idea of building a game from scratch across many games in the jam but I think I like your version the best. One minor thing I should say is that whenever the character is jumping and its head hits a ceiling it doesnt bonk his head and goes down it keeps accelerating and sort of sticks to the ceiling. Regardless excellent game.

@smileyface thanks for the feedback. This is something that I also find strange and wanted to change before. But with the jam schedule, there wasn't enough time to fix it. I'll see if I can fix this now that the submission deadline is over

Great use of the theme! It was neat slowly filling the game in. The music reminded me of Super Smash Bros. My only comment is that it wasn't always clear which direction the new level was added - perhaps some arrow or other indicator would have helped, or even if each new level had a different colored platform to distinguish it from where you've already been. That said, good work!

I love these types of games where you start with nothing or the lowest settings and you have to play more to unlock more features that make the game look or play better.
