Operation: Tough Crowd by Benji Kershenbaum

[raw]
made by Benji Kershenbaum for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Start with nothing... not even a clue of who you are!

Lost in a crowd, the poison your rival spy gave you kicks in, you remember nothing - not even who you are. You must first find the informant to get a weapon then find your opponent in the crowd and take then out! Careful though, as if you kill the wrong person you will lose your weapon meaning the other player will get the upper hand!!

Love the graphics and sound design, truly great! It took quite a while until I figured out what to do.. or even how to identify my character. It's kind of the point of the game but I'm one of those guys that will select Mario in Mario Kart and then look at the other screen to think I'm driving with Peach. Unfortunately I could only test it alone.
The Menu seems to have no quit function, was that on purpose? Other than that.. nice! Some real Party Hard vibes going on.

Great! Some real game here! Spy Party genre, right? You made it for some time, though, right? The theme is missing at all..

@oddmes Thanks! Spy Party crossed with Where's Waldo pretty much covers it I think. We made this in the 72 hours and the tie in with the theme is that you start with no knowledge of who you or your opponent are, although I see how that may be a bit of stretch.

Lovely mood and presentation. Great audio too. Tricky to play and lacking feedback as mentioned above but there is something cool in there :) good work!

Your game matches the theme great! Really fun to play. It's really nice you can change the difficulty in the settings too. Great job!

Great thematics there, not sure how such a game is not in the top 10, here is 5 stars for your hard work

The idea is cool, it would be better if there's a single-player mission.

the informant mechanic is a great addition, although it took me a bit to realize exactly what was going on.

Hi! We managed to play the game using only the interact button (and we thoroughly enjoyed it) and we've been wondering: what does the ability button do? We see the blue bar diminishing but we don't know what it means

@ladyvardoula Thanks for playing and we're glad you liked it! The ability button temporarily stops all the NPCs in their place. This is so you can spot the other player while other NPCs are still. The idea was to have a range of abilities to spice up the gameplay, but we only had time to implement the stopping NPCs.
