How I Rolled your Snowball: The Ultimate Simulator by vetch

[raw]
made by vetch for LD34 (JAM)
A simple, yet very addictive game.
We aimed at both themes, yet the pause button may have ruined the "two button control".
You play as a snowball, rolling down the hill, absorbing everything smaller standing in your way. Don't hit things bigger than you, as they will stop your roll. Beware: the bigger your ball is, the less control you have over it.
Can you reach the avalanche at 500 meters?

moving: right/left arrows
pause: p

Enjoy!

The concept is actually very interesting and could be vey well suitable for a small mobile game. Collision detection, however, could be improved - trees seem to destroy the ball when visually they're now even closely touched.

I'd be glad to see this game polished and released as a small title - it has a great potential.

Nice entry. Personally I felt the snowball grew too slowly, making it grow faster would give more of an arcade feel I think. I also found it started getting "jerky" the further I got (maybe it was just lag I don't know). Overall cool concept. With some polish would make a nice little game.

Fun little game...
Ran into trees that weren't touching me, I assume they have rectangle hitboxes...

Good game, but something really needs to be done about those hit boxes, because they are too big for the images.

+ Nice music.
+ Good idea for a game.

- When you die and press "P" the score freaks out.
- Collision could have been better.
- Title screen freaks out after death.
- Small screen.

"Misc" is a pretty vague term. It's not clear what it applies to at first. It was fun and used both themes well. I liked how it progressed. Later on the performance really took a dive which hindered playability quite a bit. Nice music!

Nice concept, but it wasn't really playable for me.

The idea is good and it fits both themes. However, we think the collisions could be better. The audio, also, doesn't match it very well. We think it would be really fun if faster, but good entry anyways!!

The heaps of snow look a bit too similar to the ground so it's kinda hard to see. Game was also very laggy for me so it wasn't easy to play.

Nice game. Cool idea and pretty adictive. There are some things that can be improve, like the collisions, but it's fun game overall. Good job!!

Interesting concept and setting, you should try to polish it a bit more and publish it as a mobile game, that might be fun.
