Detect Nothing by psychic_ash
Work quickly against the clock to find the canister and destroy it before you become exposed too much of its toxic gas. Watch your badge meter as it ... starts from nothing on it's exposure and slowly rises as the gases fill the room.
EDIT: a small animation bug was brought to my attention. There was also a node reference throwing an error. Both of these have been corrected. No new features added but scene transitions may be smoother due to the node reference being corrected.

I'm using Manjaro 5.2.11-1.
I can definitely imagine how it might have been intended to be played, but it severely lacked in feedback to make me understand what's going on. The map is a bit too large with a confusing layout. Reducing the amount of empty space on the map would greatly benefit the aesthetic in my opinion. The art is well done, however. The sounds are cool but their placement is questionable - the breathing was a nice touch but it definitely didn't sound like a mask, more like someone breathing into their microphone. To achieve the breathing effect, move further away from the microphone and amplify it in Audacity and play around with the equalizer. Also, it came from the entrance rather than the player, which sounded very strange.
Decent entry overall but needs a lot better user feedback. I suggest you polish the gameplay and player feedback first before working on the artwork in the next jam. Good work, nonetheless.
I do appreciate the feedback. :D
Even with the feedback given by the console, I wasn't able to figure out what the nature of the gas canister was. When the exposure level was 6, I figured it was nearby so I just spammed the scanning button but nothing was coming up. I figured that all I needed to do was just to scan it when it was high and place the charge and go back to the entrance, but then I would die every time. There is nothing telling me that my scan wasn't successful, how close I was (how high is exposure level 6? Are there 6 levels total or is the highest 10? 20? 100?). I see the bar going up but I can't tell how much faster it is moving and where exactly is the threshold that will make me go "oh shit, it's right here somewhere, I just have to scan a few times to find it".
Congratulations on successfully completing your first Ludum Dare game!
I liked the exploratory nature of the game, but maybe you could make walking around and looking for things a little more interesting by adding more elements to the game (more different hiding places, more stuff to find on the way, etc.), rather than having a map this big. I understand that larger amounts of content are very difficult to create when you're one person and you only have a couple of days. So for a jam game, I think this is great! It was easy to understand, gameplay was intuitive, there was mostly good feedback after interactions etc.
What you've managed to do is pretty impressive, especially given you've only been doing this for a year! Nice work, I hope you continue developing, see you in April! :)
Beside that I think the theme of the LD is not very well explorated here.
But overall is a good game. Good job!
