An idle game no one asked for
A game made to fill a hole in the market... that did not exist.
A game specifically developed for people who wear or have heard of socks
This is Socks... the idle clicker sock game... involving socks
The issue with size is now fixed :D (note the little magnifying glass in the top right of the screen shots!) You can also zoom back to the larger size if you happen to have a 4K screen . Alternatively, keep it tiny so your co-workers won’t even know you're not working.
The game itself is pretty simple. Click to earn money. Spend money on upgrades and auto clicking. Rinse and repeat!
There is a lot of balancing issues, but with this being a Ludum Dare entry, I just didn’t have the time to get it sorted. I’ll be working on it though.

- Could not find any socks? I looked everywhere!

- I found that the height of the game window was much to small for my monitor
- Sound FX were on point!
- Later, I found no bugs - only socks

I really love clickers and this one is really cool and I love the satire in your description here in itch. Made me giggle.

- Graphics are 'easy' but get tje job done well, I love them!
- Gameplay is satisfying & original (maybe a a bit too fast to 'finish' it, but already very good for a LD)
- Maybe it's a bug, but on windows I had no sounds, necessary if you want to publish it (which I recommend you, if you add some content)
- I'm now covered of socks tho
(little thing I found, went scrolling down using mouseweel, I needed to scroll to Constantinople to get to those fancy nanotech socks, but it's an ok fix dw)
Overall, very cute & entertaining game, a very nice job for a solo dev ( an choosing a clicker is good for LD cuz you can add content if you have enough time left), keep going like that. I hope for you, you can upgrade it & publish it as a mobile game :)
P.S. - I just played other games, and forgot to exit it, and I thought that this music is from your game :D

Cotten socks are overpowered!!
Glad you enjoyed it. I have a whole list of things I wanted to add, so will definitely get those sorted and release to iOS and Android.
Oh, and you can click and drag the shop and factory views - I didn't actually know the mouse wheel would/did work with it!

PS: My Cotten socks factory is working at such capacity the progress bar is flashing so fast it could cause seizures :smiley: :sweat_smile:
I think this game needs some re-balance. For me the issue is that the first 5-10 minutes you have a lot to do, after this there is not much more too do, and after 20-30 minutes it is nearly impossible to do anything. I would also have liked some kind of goal in this game.
But overall is this a pretty good jam game. Well done.
Really enjoyed this LDJam. So the project has continued development and it is almost a fully fledged game! Just going into alpha testing before it gets released on iOS TestFlight. Fun times :smile:
