made by hijomo for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

*Step on deck and feel the salt spray blow through your hair. Take command and follow your dreams as you explore the open ocean from the sleepy port of Faversham to the cut throat Pirates Cove. *

p.s. This project mostly turned out to be an exploration of a movement system.

Wish the boat moved a little faster, but I like the art from the title card

I thought the game mechanics were awesome for setting the sail and moving. The only fallback was how slow the game could be at points because I didn't know where I was and if the wind would ever go in the correct direction. I think it would be a cool addition to have checkpoints and maybe a bit more control over where the ship goes.

The sailing mechanic is a nice idea. But its really slow when the wind is coming from the wrong direction. So I wasnt really leacing the habor because the wind was going the wrong way. An oared (google translate) mechanic would have helped for those cases.
Still I like the core idea and for that you get a thumb up from me!

Haha, loved the song ^^. I think the movement mechanic has its charme and could it could be worthwhile to explore it further. On the sea you feel really lost because you have no anchor points and only the trails as a feedback on how fast you are going.

Loved the sailing mechanic! I managed to arrive at the pirate port. I presume sailing is everything there is to it? It's fine if it is, just wondering.

I didn't mind the leisurely speed - it's a bit of change in sailing as opposed to all these modern fast games!
I only saw one wind direction I think - from behind the south east? So it wasn't clear if I was supposed to anchor and have a meal waiting for it to change.
Pirate port!
