Cute idea! I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/jQitKM0J6Yc

Cool Idea. But it was kind of hard to figure out what to do. A few indicators would have helped a lot. Also I don't really like that type of artstyle. But since that is not your fault I won't grade you for graphics. But Solid game overall :)

Nice! And catchy music to boot. :) Occasionally some of the sound effects wouldn't trigger but that was a very small thing. Fun game!

this game definitely fit the theme, and the music was good for the ambiance! that being said, after 15 minutes of not being sure of what to do, i was finally able to start driving. some of the instructions were enough to get me started, but i feel like between the fact that car parts and the starting point were sometimes very far apart made the beginning of the game kinda feel slow. once i got in the car, i learned that you can drive without tires (and with drag which was a great added touch). driving was also really fun (i think a large part of that was the sound effects and the fast turning). overall, slow start, but great game!

@ausstein the game really lacks of in-game instructions. It's not clear you're in a car race and that you have to build your own too! I liked making those pixel art, but one thing I would have changed earlier is the color palette. Everything looks blended and it reduces clarity a lot.

@ben-ash got it, not sure if putting an audio source on every item is very efficient 😅

@jkoftekian I added procedural object placement at each start just two hours before submission, which added a great replayability, but I didn't had enough time to balance difficulty. Also I wanted to spawn a starter pack at the beginning (4 wheels and a chassis), but time went short.

@jupiter-hadley thanks for playing our game, hope you liked it as well as we liked making it.

sweet animation, actually very very well done imho .. the scenario is not bad either, it has an identity and a solid vibe it feels a bit like earthbound perhaps ... and also seems to have influences on some new indie game titles on the art department, awesome work!

Solid entry, I really liked assembling the car and driving around!

Some things that I think you should improve on is explaining the actual game, for example it takes a while to figure out that the thing in the middle is actually a chassis and you're supposed to pick up and drop something on it.

I really like the idea of putting together your your own car, fits the theme and incentivize you to keep exploring the map for new pieces.
It was quite hard to know what to do at first though, I spent most of the first half of the game simply walking through the map, bumping into objects and pushing them around.
Good job overall though!

Quite nice, once you figured out the trashcan was the car chassi. :D
Definately would have helped if the items had some icon or indicator of what they can be used for.
But well done!

very nice game! it took me a while to catch it, and i wanted to use other pieces than the default ones for wheels.

I played it until the end, so that means it is engaging! well done!

Great idea, guess the buildings could have looked a little more different than the ground. A little difficult to see where you can walk without really looking if that makes sense, maybe just a different color for the facade would have done it.

Good idea and congratulations to completing it for the jam! It felt like the wheels broke a bit too easily though. This feels like it could be extended forever with new parts.
