Mad Mans Vengeance by Tommislav

[raw]
made by Tommislav for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

ld45_3.gif

A psychological horror game (loosely based on the Swedish RPG "Kult") about a man who has lost everything and will stop at nothing to get it back!

I made this game in C++, it is my second C++ project (the first was my last Ludum Dare entry).

I hope you will enjoy this twisted story...

Hey! I tried to check your entry, but "LD45.exe" do not open, it shows system errors asking me for MSVCP.dll, ucrtbased.dll, and VCRUNTIME40D.dll.

@mikeliosus Oh, snap. I think it should be fixed now. Sorry. Please let me know if you try it again. And thanks for bringing it to my attention! /T

@tommislav Now my antivirus declared war to your project, but I got over it and finally played it. :)

i like this screenshake feature. :)

The story is interesting, but it is not changing whether you use any variants, I think? I can not consider, tried only 2.

With 10 soul points at the end was the first try. And dropping some soul points been the second try. And it looks like no difference.

Anywat nice little entry, hope you achieved your goals! :3

Good moody writing, just like your previous entry. AND IT HAS SCREEN SHAKE!

Looks like we both made games inspired by oldschool text adventure games (and we're both Swedish?)! I really wish I could play your game, but I'm on a Mac unfortunately. Was able to work out the broad strokes of the story by checking out the source though. Twisted indeed, great work!

I saw a few posts about your game during the compo but then kinda forgot about it. I'm glad I found it. Good writing and a take on theme. The game deserves to be played more.
Sounds would be nice. Maybe some old timey computer beeps or typewriter sounds? Especially on a shake.

@tommislav any chance of compiling this for Mac? I don't have a PC but I would like to give it a try.

@tolmera @milestone-games I'll see if I can build this for mac. I already have it working on Linux (setting that up was even easier than setting up the windows environment). All I'm lacking is a mac... and time... I might be able to lend a macbook at work though. I'll let you know!

Bold move to go for a text game. This was a pleasant change of pace.

@tommislav If you can tell me how to do it, I'll build it on my mac and export it to you.
