Summary

As if life in the old west was not harsh enough, you must now protect your saloon from the zombie apocalypse! Create outposts, oil pumps and even Gatling guns to show those pesky undead that no living or dead can mess with your legitimate business.

You start with nothing but fortunately you continuously earn some money from your patrons. The saloon should be defended at all costs so make sure to place your towers strategically.

Controls

  • Use left mouse button to select a tower and place it on an allowed area.
  • An active tower may be selected to view its range.
  • Use the Esc key or the right mouse to deselect a tower unit or button.

Hints

  1. Killing enemies does not provide income. You gain $ every second from your saloon and by any oil pumps you build.
  2. Careful! The enemy waves are randomly generated. Accidents may and most probably will happen.
  3. Don't underestimate the capitalist power of the oil pumps.
  4. As things get harder do not hesitate to replace your towers with stronger ones. The enemies get stronger and so should you!

Great music and lore. Solid gameplay. The only suggestion I would have is to make the path more intuitive; You could snake the path instead of a roundabout. Overall, great job!

Nice graphics, great game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/aEgrmplySyU

Very nice entrance, I really enjoyed playing the game, I like the fact that there is a guy talking on the beggining and the pixel art is beautiful

damn. 1957's RDR. Played it online but also, Downloaded it not to play but to reserve it as a piece of art.

Yoo! That was a fun one! Always been a fan of tower defense games. Been playing them for years and been the n.1 in the world in BTD Battles for example, so I really know my tower defenses. And this is a successful one! Tower placement and hit radiuses work wonderfully, the gameplay is super satisfying and the pixel art graphics are awesome! Also the music lightens up the mood by a ton. Literally don't know what to complain about other than the game screen didn't scale correctly for me in Web GL. But I managed by scrolling up and down at it was no problem.

Really good tower defense with good mechanics, good job!

Really really nice game from start to finish !

My love for extra income made me more of an oil magnate than a saloon owner by the end of it all though

Everything worked perfectly and looked really nice. Only minor complaint is that sounds ended up a little messed up when my whole screen was filled with towers, most likely from too many sounds playing at once.

Great work !

Nice game! I did feel like the units could have been better balanced, the gatling gunman seemed too underpowered for the price it had, I used way more of those bombers and it seemed to work best.

Very nice game overall! I really liked it, kept playing much longer than I expected.

A small bug I encountered on the WebGL version, with a lot of units crowding the scene on the 7th wave, the sound starts getting crackly, until it all stopped on the 8th for me.

Very fun little game! I am a huge fan of the tower defense game! The only issue I had was that the path was a bit confusing! Other thank that I really liked the art and the funny the atmosphere of the game!

The first tower defense I played in this Ludum Dare. (Usually there is a bunch) I liked the artwork. There were nothing out of the ordinary with this one. I would have preferred faster enemies with less hp.

Overall I enjoyed the game. Thank you for making this game!

First part was fun to play. Then i realized how you can stack pump stations behind your saloon (i dont know why u can build there) and broke the game economy system in order to get full gatling guys. It's a shame that you can break the game and loose the Tower Defense kind of fun. Lovely Pixel art and music. Good job!

Nice tower defence game!
Excellent graphics and music (ohhh the music fit the western theme nicely!!!)
Solid gameplay, polished!
The only thing I could say is that the player shouldn't be allowed to place towers anywhere he please but at specific places (similar to Kingdom Rush!). It make I believe for a better gameplay instead of spamming towers all over the map (except of cource the road ;-) )
Still a very solid entry in LD. Nice job!

Cool game! Very polished, nice artwork, especially liked the opening sequence with the bartender, just hoping that he 'was' washing glasses? I really like the animations on the end screen

Definitely one of the best games of the jam, was really fun to play! Compared to, lets say BTD, I liked how there were fever, but stronger enemies. The game was well balanced; not too difficult but not too easy. The graphics and animation work were really good, + the audio was superb. The dialogue scene at the beginning set the mood nicely. One thing which would have made this perfect for me, would have been a speed up button (2x speed or something). But besides that, amazing work!

Nice game! Pixel art is very charming, had a variety of towers and enemy types. Saloon and Joplin vibes helped establish the mood.

If you haven't already, I'd highly advise watching 'The Art of Screenshake' on YouTube. The pixel art is great, but I think there are opportunities to add some juice and improve game feel.

Graphics are high quality for a game jam. Music fits the western theme like a glove and supports the humorous approach well. There's a nice bit of humor. My favorite was the good ol' miner that lurker behind the barrels. Outpost was kind of generic. Maybe it could be replaced with some person to give it more personality? Some youngster perhaps that is too afraid to shoot most of the time, making him slow..

Sounds are nice and don't draw too much attention. Gatlin gun sound could use an upgrade though. Some feedback on enemy hits could be nice. Like flashing their sprite white. I agree with previous reviews, that screenshake on the explosives could give much needed juice.

Overall very well done!

Very nice work! Graphics were perfecto, and everything worked great. Game ended a little abruptly, and at that point I had every tile of the map filled up with way more money than I could use, but I suspect that's mostly just due to time constraints not allowing for more enemy types and building variations.
I'd love to see it expanded on!
