I had some difficulty understanding how to play this. Development was a little slow. I did like the consistent art.

It was fun once I figured out what to do. The pixel art animation is lovely and amazingly complete. It's '2' to equip the hatchet and '1' to unequip anything. You also don't left click to swing tools, you just kinda wiggle around the mouse. There were a few things that felt awkward. I don't really like wiggling to use tools, I just end up with my character spazzing out as I swipe the mouse across his face. There's also a weird thing with resources not being picked up until I leave their hitbox and re-enter. This is probably because only onEnter is used to detect collisions. I also found that I could stand on top of the slimes and they couldn't hit me which was weird. All the little things aside it was fun to play.

Art is really nice, music is good too, generally the g/sfx are super slick. I like the wiggly mouse mechanic too, in theory.
I haven't gotten very far though. I haven't managed to craft the pickaxe. The night comes very quickly, and I gather resources very slowly. I find it hard to get more than one wall block up before night, and the amount of enemies has me dead on the second night. I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong, but I feel like I need _a lot_ more day before the first night.

The art and theme were good and fun. The beginning was a little slow - chopping 8 trees takes awhile. The chopping tree mechanic was a neat touch, but it was fairly tough to be in the right position to chop reliably.

Everything feels quite polished, every interaction feels super satisfying and did I mentioned that the art style is quite amazing? Well done.

Ran out of Ores and couldn't make a sword. But the rest is pretty fun!

Really cool concept! I love how the graphics give such a cool feeling. Like it's a pixel art game but still like a modern 2D game.

My one complaint is that it was kinda difficult to see what things were needed to craft what, but overally definitely enjoyed!

Pretty fun game. I like the style. Looks really polished. Combat feels awkward, though, and the damn bird keeps bombing me. I guess one has to get used to the mechanics.

I played multiple times, one time scouring the entire island from one end to the other, and only ever found 4 copper/ore at most in a play through, so I couldn't craft the sword. Also, even though I had the resources, it wouldn't let me craft the bow or staff (perhaps because I hadn't crafted the sword? Not sure). It'd also be nice if you could tell how much health you have left.

All that aside, the stuff that did work was fun to play around with (I _did_ play multiple times, after all), and the aesthetic was fantastic as well. Good job!

Just a note to people on the lack of resources. The resources respawn if you survive a couple of days. Hope this helps

The art is really cool, I feel like adding some extra sprites to show that you're affecting stuff would be beneficial though, maybe some particle effects if you don't want to go that far? I like the movement of the trees when you hit them though!

having to swing the mouse felt awkward
The art is very nice, and i like the premise of crafting. I think the UI needed more love, still not sure what Place does?
I had enough for the staff and it wouldn't let me craft it?

overall very nice entry, but the crafting confused me

Made it to 5 days. I loved the graphics super cute and the animations are full of charm. I didnt like the mouse wiggle tho. The way your UI is set up it seems like its perfectly doable to just click on an item to equip it, or click ahead of you to use melee weapons, but maybe I'm just not super used to using the numbers to equip items.
Overall I liked what's there, I just wish the controllers were a bit more comfy. But great game!

One of the most fun games I played this LD! And the graphics are absolutely on point. The mouse-swinging mechanic is a bit weird tho, also, scrolling in the crafting menu is waaaay too slow for some reason.

genuinely the Mouse swinging mechanic was a joke that probably shouldnt have been our design, Sorry that we were goof balls and found it would be funny to have to manually mine/chop things!

Small and well-developed survival, there are some problems with UI design, but the game is pretty good.

PS. Do not use dark colours for texts on dark background.

Fun little project! Using the mouse to actually swing tools is an interesting mechanic but it felt like I had to be in a very specific spot relative to the thing I was trying to hit. Also I might limit each tool to only be able to break the resource it's related to (Hatchet = Tree, Pickace = stone, etc). When I discovered the axe could break everything I didn't really feel incentive to craft the other tools other than to just tick the boxes. Only other thing would be some sort of health indicator. Loved the style and music though, good job!

That was lots of fun! Swinging the tools/weapons around felt really silly but in the best way possible. The art was also fantastic looking! Great work on this entry :)

@gamesplusjames 100% silliness, not at all effective hahaha. We'd probably change it if we carry it forward. Thanks for the kind words about art <3

@jake-marks glad you figured it out :D It is a bit funky we wont lie hahaha

Interesting game with good graphics but it's hard to understand how to play and how everything works. Good job anyway ^^

Great visuals! Felt very Terraria-esque. The weapon swinging mechanic felt a little odd though, and as others have mentioned there were issues picking items up if they spawned where you were standing. The music fit well and the day / night cycle was a nice touch. Nice work!

Overall a lot of fun!
Graphics are cute (the slimes! :3 )
The block placing system is really cool, though the walls feel too expensive to be worth the time.
You can mash left click to launch an insane amount of arrows (each dealing full DMG I assume)
I went the whole map left to right and there was only a total of 6 iron ores out of 8 needed for a sword, so it was impossible for me to unlock it :/

Great game but I feel as if clicking to attack/use tools would be a world of improvement over swinging the mouse. Perhaps that would make more sense if the tools/weapons had longer reach? (And therefore it was more intuitive to swing around windmill-style)

Still, just my opinion. Great looking game other than this.

Graphics are amazing! interesting gameplay mechanics too! Only thing I found problematic:
1. There weren't enough ores in the map for a sword.
2. There was one slime block that would never die and would follow me forever, day in night out. No matter what Bow I used or anything. Playable otherwise.
