The Whole Lot by onnofal

We've moved to a new place during this week of Ludum Dare. And the idea for the game came out as obvious - often every time I move, it is with more belongings compared to previous time. At the beginning of this journey you start with (almost) nothing.

Finding time and motivation was difficult this LD round, so just leaving here a very simple prototype as is. Also apologies for I will probably not have as much time as I would wish to play your other entries.

I did not understand what to do, but managed to drop things of the screen.

But why it's so short ... Clearly I like it but I wanted so much more.

@adliberum @cpokered @kromeboy @okkolobr @randdir @tasakasama Thank you all for playing, while I apologize for that single minute lasting gameplay. This LD I was happy to finish and deliver something at all. I believe for few additional rooms I would need few more hours while still not sure if the puzzle will begin to be little bit more challenging (which now.. well is not much :)

Neat concept and super satisfying gameplay. Tonnes of clever little puzzles you could add, especially with the ability to 'overlap' furniture (like the desk). Nice work.

@hastro Great point, I was taking it more as a flaw, that the desk may seem to be able to overlap something low and isn't. But implementing as a generic mechanism would make crazy messy puzzles possible. Thanks!

Loved the graphics, wish there was more! I was expecting an overlapping mechanic on the furniture, that could make for tricky puzzles! The sound effect on the cat is great!

Nice puzzle game ! As said by others, a little short but quick games could very well fit this kind of game actually. One way of doing it would be with some sort of random generation and random new pieces to manage each level, even multiple new pieces, or multiple rooms at a time. And a timer to implement the possibility to fail a level, and the need to restart. Like a tetris game, in a way.

Really cool concept, it sure is short but the art is clean and the game enjoyable, congrats !

I like it! The gameplay reminds me of the board game Ubongo. It feels very polished, especially for a prototype. This could easily become a small, fully fledged game.

It is quite a neat game. The art style works well. Better if more levels and mechanics can be added.

I honestly would have thought this was one of the best jam games so far had it not been so short. Great Idea and great aesthetic. Another things is that I felt some awkwardness to the controls in how the objects wouldn't quite snap to the grid right. But regardless mechanically this game is absolutely outstanding....content wise it leaves me a bit wanting. Also you should check our game, it has a similar aesthetic to yours........And its also a bit short.

Neat little prototype. took me a little while to figure out what to do, but i got there. I could see this easily expanding into a game covering the entire screen.

Pleeeeeease keep building the game, it's such a nice idea! (And tell me when it's finished :D)

@smileyface Yep, absolutely, I feel the same about controls. In addition to weird snapping the whole 'vertical' movement is bad - I got trapped while making translation from 2D mouse movement into 3D world coords and did not make it quite as I would like, but needed to abandon and keep going to deliver anything at all :)

@upsitesdown Unfortunately I don't see it likely now, but who knows :) I will definitely let you know. Thanks

and also @fatsheep @romibarbosa

Many thanks to you all for playing and comments, I was out and without reach of PC, but now back and going to play and rate your entries few hours before countdown hits!
