After much frustration with my original competition idea for the theme and giving up for most of Saturday and having played Civ V for most of the evening it hit me: A card game where you bring your world up from ancient stone age technology through the ages. Unfortunately between the late start, collaborative issues (time related) and other stuff I/we weren't able to get very far. There's smatterings of code and a few cards with placeholder artwork (mostly creative commons stuff). As such this is more of a gallery piece than a fully working game but it will hopefully give you a sense of what the game would have been like. If the community likes it/we can flesh it out more I/we think we'd like to turn it into an actual game, be it digital or paper. Anyway I hope you enjoy this jam entry.
Issues:
The credits screen doesn't work and makes the font go funny on the title screen (the title screen still works after, it's just hard to read).
The card images are only low res because I didn't have time to export them with better settings. Sorry about that.
How To Play:
Click the Events deck or the Exploration Deck in the top left to cycle through the available cards. Hover over the Used Events/Used Exploration decks to see enlarged versions of the cards. Right click to cyle backwards.
A lot more work went into the game than can be seen in the submitted version. There are a lot more cards that we designed but these were the ones I had time to mock up artwork for.
