Formless by Shugor

Formless is a Metroidvania style game starring a cute little slime who wishes they were a human.

Gameplay is largely based around exploring and interacting with people and objects, though combat is also required to further your exploration.

In its current form, it is quite short. The game will let you know when you've finished all the content.

There is a hidden secret room with a bonus music track around for those with a keen eye.
CONTROLS
Left and Right - Movement
Space - Jump/Accept
Up - Interact
Down - Body-Slam/Descend
Escape - Quit Game

rats get stuck in corners if they get pushed onto them

*Theese rats are stuck*
Adorable graphics tough, audio and music fits well with the mood, intriguing story, going to come back to check out some post LD content if there's some to come :D
The not hitting from above was an intentional choice, to try and make the player react more to the environment during combat rather than just landing on top of the enemy a few times.
I wonder if this would be better if it had been explained somewhere? Or perhaps it's just a Bad Idea and needs some redesigning.
I'm aware of the rats getting stuck but thank you for the reminder to get on that.
There is at least a little bit more planned out for this demo, but not implemented on time, and both of us are very keen to expand upon it more after that.
This was especially inspiring to me, because I have quite a similiar long-term project currently in hibernation. (It's also a platformer with puzzle-solving elements and "RPG-style"-dialogue.)

All in all this is a promising entry, and you could do all sorts of stuff with it if expanded.
I like the graphical style and the tongue-in-cheek-attitude, but I'd also like to see the story take more serious turns.
It somehow occurred to me, that wouldn't it be interesting if The Slime would get himself into a really sticky situation (pun intended), and the player would have to take control of The Lazy-Ass Bee who would have to redeem himself and rush to aid his friend? (Preferably in a rainy weather, and/or otherwise dramatic shift in tone :D).
But yeah, that was just something that popped into my head. What I'm saying is I look forward to seeing more to the story!

Oh, and btw. I noticed you can pick up infinite amount of shirts! The maiden must have a wardrobe of gargantuan proportions back at her house.
