Formless is a Metroidvania style game starring a cute little slime who wishes they were a human.

In its current form, it is quite short. The game will let you know when you've finished all the content.

slime sweet slime, haha rats dont take damage from above? only from sides? hard to kill for the first enemies had to skip the first two and got the third rat by mistake haha

rats get stuck in corners if they get pushed onto them

Thank you!

The not hitting from above was an intentional choice, to try and make the player react more to the environment during combat rather than just landing on top of the enemy a few times.

I wonder if this would be better if it had been explained somewhere? Or perhaps it's just a Bad Idea and needs some redesigning.

I'm aware of the rats getting stuck but thank you for the reminder to get on that.

There is at least a little bit more planned out for this demo, but not implemented on time, and both of us are very keen to expand upon it more after that.

Just played through due to spiffs recommendation and the game is pretty fun and challenging taking out the popular concept of having to jump on top of enemies in turn for making you having to think about how to aproach the problem and the music is splendid with its upbeat tune. The character interactions were charming as well as cute. I can say that i enjoyed this demo and I am waiting patiently for the full release

I loved the humor of this game; the dialogue with the bee had me laughing most. I'd agree with other people's feedback about attacking; I especially expected it to work because I had a downwards pointing attack. A different style of combat can definitely work; it just needs to be explained better. I'll make sure to watch for a continuation of this.

Very good game. The slime was fun to control but I did get a little confused about fighting the rats. Overall it was a great game and I hope to see what you do with it next.

My only problem here is, why can't I climb the ladder while pressing up? Other than that, AMAZING WORK! I totally want to play more of this, yes please.

Pretty fun. Loved the bee character. Interesting back story/motivations for the slime. The animation and movement fit perfectly. The slam was cool but was a bit tough to get to work properly. A few times the rats bounced back into me rather than away which was a bit frustrating. Overall pretty solid. Good work.

You should definitely keep working on this project. I would love to see the world of this game to expand. And the story too.

The dialogue was so funny! "I dunno, dude. bee stuff. you wouldn't get it." This was charming and plenty fun.

I really like your game.

This was especially inspiring to me, because I have quite a similiar long-term project currently in hibernation. (It's also a platformer with puzzle-solving elements and "RPG-style"-dialogue.)

---

All in all this is a promising entry, and you could do all sorts of stuff with it if expanded.

I like the graphical style and the tongue-in-cheek-attitude, but I'd also like to see the story take more serious turns.

It somehow occurred to me, that wouldn't it be interesting if The Slime would get himself into a really sticky situation (pun intended), and the player would have to take control of The Lazy-Ass Bee who would have to redeem himself and rush to aid his friend? (Preferably in a rainy weather, and/or otherwise dramatic shift in tone :D).

But yeah, that was just something that popped into my head. What I'm saying is I look forward to seeing more to the story!

Oh, and btw. I noticed you can pick up infinite amount of shirts! The maiden must have a wardrobe of gargantuan proportions back at her house.
