The story of Charly, an orphan looking for his original family. After another bad day in your orphanage located in Chicago, Charly leaves his "home" to find himself in the street, looking to find his original family. Will you manage to find your parents? Or will you fall into the claws of Mr.J?

A game made entirely from scratch in 72 hours for the 45th Ludum Dare game jam.
How to play?
Arrows keys to move. Gather ingredients for Mr.J When all ingredient are gathered, a dialog box from Mr.J will appear. You only need to find him in order to get to the next level ! Dodge Doggos & Perverts.
Update :
Fixed the dialog box from the 2nd level.
Fixed the placement of all the dialog boxes from level 1 to level 4.
Known bugs :
There's a jittering effect caused by moving right or left + up or down.

It's an interesting take on the theme, and I liked your text scrolling effect. Keep doing your best.
However I'm a little concerned Mr J. is ok with me collecting street lemons surrounded by rabid dogs haha.
Thanks for your review. I knew the jittering animation is ugly, but we didn't manage to fix it. It happens when you press one directionnal key + up or down.
For your second problem, about the dialog box, I just tried that in Unity and it worked pretty well in all levels. :(
On the first level, you need 3 items, some ice cubes, a water bottle and a lemon. Did you get all of those?
I like the classic art style. The intro text could have been more to the point for my taste ;)
The ending is pretty sudden yes, when you get on the road it change instantly to the ending scene, but yes, you made it in time ! :D
