I enjoy minimalistic games like this. Polished and simple, it's exactly what it needs to be! :D Great job!

I beat it! Only found 3 of 26 discoveries, but apparently that was enough for victory =). Hmm, the response for "No" didn't trigger until much later in the game, I think I removed the "T" from the first word, and it only triggered one of two things or something. Wish I could see the count of unlocks while I'm playing, thought "score" might do that, but it didn't ^_^. Was weird that "morning" unlocked "morning" again, not sure if that w as bug, or something else happened. Wanted something to stop the music playing (was good, but got old), and the word I expected to do that did something else instead :). Second game I got to 11 unlocks. Could never find a "D"...

Nice and experimental. I like the literal take on the theme!

I loved unlocking new letters, colours & music. Not gonna lie though, I did spend a while making a bunch of rude words.

I'm not entirely sure how to progress. Some words don't seem to be in the game's dictionary, e.g. I tried to create 'morning' based on Jimbly's comment, but it didn't register. My next guess was to treat the game as a crossword but that didn't seem to work either.

Though I definitely like how you've taken a minimalist approach as Evannex said.

@jimbly Thank you for the review. Your thoughts on it mirror my own. I would have definitely liked to have put in a way for the player to track their discoveries mid game, but I'm not sure on what the best approach would have been without taking away from whats onscreen. And morning triggering morning was an oversight on my part. The music was there to drive the player towards muting it with blocks. I debated putting it so no audio is played after the mute, but if the player finds that first they won't hear the secret.

@corrade Progression is based on making a certain word from it's group. Words are read from left to right, and must stand alone, away from other blocks. As for the dictionary, the game is only as smart as I am right now.

I stopped for a moment before realizing that you started with "nothing". Nice use of the theme!

While playing, I find it a little bit hard to figure out the "correct" words to assemble, and often had to resort to trial-and-error. So although it might be against the minimalism, some guidance can really help keeping the game fun for me.

I played the zip version and the music isn't playing on my system.

Nice game!

Hi @toasteater
the music doesn't play until it has a reason to play.
But certainly, if theres something that could definitely be improved, it would be keeping track of correct words and providing more of a hint to them.

Simple and pretty fun, i love this idea !
It's pretty hard to find the words as a non-English-speaking but it's a great experience !
I can't rate the music part because i use the zip version who doesn't have this.

This is really cool, all the words I tried worked which surprised me :) Even had tin in there!

Hi @corentin-sabiaux, the music seems to be working in the zipped version, it just does not play at the start of the game.

Phew, this is too difficult for me. I only managed to get to "populated" after 10 minutes of play time. So yes, I agree with what you said before, that there should be some kind of "hinting" at words which need to be built.
However, I liked what I saw. Minimalistic and simple, well executed idea. Sadly didn't get to the music, so I'll leave the audio rating out I think.

Great concept!
It is quite difficult to get the correct words, managed to find 12 on the second attempt.
Couldn't find a way to disable music, guess there isn't any
You definitely made a good job

I liked it at the beginning but the more I played the more it became a "figure out what the designer is thinking" type of game as I was creating various words but the game only seemed to respond to a very select minority of them which made me sad :(. Other than that, the visuals and audio was nice!

needs more hints, turns out to be a guessing game rather than a puzzle

I like this kind of game! It was fun to try to get new words, but I wish there were some hints or something to give me some direction as to what words would help. I definitely liked the crossword aesthetic. :)
