The Runner by Attala

[raw]
made by Attala for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

A trivial fighting game based on the principle of rock, paper, scissors.

The game is fun in single player, (you get a simple AI to play against), but the game was originally meant to be played with 2 players on the same screen. Find a friend and try it out! Can you stop your friend from getting a lot of kills and be a real hero?

No instructions required. The game will tell you what to do :)

This is my second Ludum Dare and I had a blast just like last time :)

Good work ! I like the animations, and the sounds to the mouth adds to the atmosphere! A good update of the stone paper scissors!

I loved the soldier models and sound effects! But not having any indicators on what to choose made me eventually just pick attack/defense at random, and the game stopped being fun. I get the rock paper scizzors throwback, but maybe including some way for the player to have a better chance at winning an encounter, provided they pay good attention, would've kept me playing longer

Graphics and animations are cool. But what attack I should choose? It's only for my luck? Hmmm...

Wow the graphics are awesome! Really like the art direction in this one. I am a rock, paper, scissors champ so naturally I made it very far in this :) Great job!

@zsolt Well, I meant to make an intro sequence which explains the "start with nothing" part. But basically it's a soldier going to war.. with nothing :) Thank you for your feedback!

Got 4 enemies! Ok, maybe its not much but I was proud. Sound effects made me chuckle.

Very cool audio! :)
Interesting concept, but in the end it seems this is only based on shear luck, no? So past the wow effect it gets boring quite fast.

Cool graphics! And I'm definetly fan of the mouth sounds :D
The gameplay is a bit slow. Nothing wrong with rock paper scissors but you could make it a bit more actiony in single player.

Cool sound effects and graphics. I also really liked the animations. The actual gameplay is a bit like an advanced rock/paper/scissors, which makes it a little to rnd and without much replayability. Thanks for the game.

This was fun gambling, I made 10 in a row! I had something similar on one of my old phones about 15 years ago! :D

Interesing approach at fighting system, it reminded me of the battle system in a very old games "Knights of Legend". And also it's practically as confusing as this game. But a neat little experiment. Only downfall - textures are very glitchy in browser.

The graphics and the sound are cool. For a rock paper scissor game it is kinda fun, but trying to get a highscore with this mostly comes down to empiric chance, you are lucky that that is my thing though ;) Well done for the time!

@gildar76 Hey and thanks for playing my game. The theme part is simply a soldier going to war.. with nothing :) Original plan was put in equipment the soldier could pick up, but never got that far.

Good randition of rock paper scissors, but was a little confused going from right to left and how the game is connected to the theme, but other than that, great solo game!

Graphically pretty good, and the explosion sound is funny. I'd prefer much faster animations though

Such a nice entry! Maybe not the tightest fist for the theme, but the graphics and sounds were on point. I was confused at first, thinking I was the guy on the left haha. Good job!

I'm weak for mouth sound effects. Sold me on this. I'm not partial to graphic games, so this was a nice variation on presenting combat. Simple but fun with lots of little nice touches!
