ok i'm not a pro gamer but a pro developer
The major gripe was the jump control response. Sometimes, immediatelly after landing, he guy just wasn't jumping even if it looked like he could :(
I really like the aesthetics of your game, the music is GREAT, well done :)
All in all, not a bad game!
The only thing I didn't like is the low space jumps
Thank you all for really helpful feedback! I must admit, going back and replaying it with the big collider in mind is a bit frustrating, I think I just got so used to it whilst testing that it seemed fine with me :')
Thanks again guys! ^^
Only major complaint is the collision detection. When your vertical speed becomes too great, it's difficult to get into tight crevices. And when you are next to a spike with tons of space between you and the spike and you die, I go "RRR!!! YOU WANNA SEE MY SOUL? THIS IS MY SOUL!!!!!!!" =P
Great use of the theme though! I still had a good time~
Thank you guys for your comments!! This jam has been so great with giving me wonderful feedback :D
The platforming section (soul) was a little problematic for me; the jumping didn't quite respond correctly (probably something to do with the ground check). The collider of the player was also too large, should have been the same size as the player orb, or even smaller. It felt like I died without even touching the spikes.
One thing I really liked about the game was the main menu. The mysterious red cube was really moody. I wonder if the pictures on it have some kind of deeper meaning, or are they just pairs of legs? Anyway, it's a solid game. Well done!
