Neon OverDOSe is a puzzle game where the goal is to guide SAM, a strategically automated machine, to the POWER FLOPPY. SAM has already programmed the moves it’s going to take to get to the POWER FLOPPY and it’ll be your job to build the level! You will start with nothing on the board, and SAM will only start it’s movement protocol once there’s nothing left to be placed on the board.

You will need to strategically plan and take care with where you place the tiles! If your placement isn't quite where you want it, simply RIGHT CLICK on any tile to remove it. SAM will execute it’s pre-programmed movement sequence even if it sends it flying off into the void of space or into a hazardous laser beam. On top of this, SAM will only pick up the POWER FLOPPY once it’s completely finished it’s movement protocol.

Levels 1-1 to 1-3 are designed to teach you the basics of the game as well as what each tile can do. Levels 2-1 to 2-3 are designed to challenge you and push you to the very limits. The CHAOS level is only for those with the courage to face the unknown. This game mode randomly generates levels ranging from very easy to nightmarishly unfair! If you ever find yourself completely lost, press the Escape key to restart the map or go back to the main menu.

Very fun and polished entry! The visual and audio feedback is a great addition that you rarely see in gamejam games. The only weak spot that I can think of is that I didn't find the background music to be particularly enticing.

I can't pick blocks back up after I put them down? I put them down in apparently the wrong spot but can't pick back up to try again.

Hey I loved the graphics! I think the menu system is a little broken, I had a really hard time deleting things and clicking on some menu items which really pulled me out of the game. Very solid entry though! Had me thinking!

Pretty cool. It took some trial and error to figure out what each thing did, but that's not a bad thing!

@drjeebus @ghost-in-the-toast Thanks for the feedback! Right Click to remove the blocks, but there's a bug that will sometime prevent this.

Love the art style, and I enjoy these kinds of puzzles.

Wish you could do a test run without having to place every tile, also removing tiles can be a bit unresponsive.

The idea of the game is great. Having to build out the level and then the robot take its path played nicely. The only major draw back was the fact that some of the tiles when placed on the edge would not be pick up-able. There was also some minor UI problems where you couldn't click on the menu wording with the mouse in specific locations. Would have rated higher on fun, if not for the bugs. Thanks for submitting and letting us play your game.

Wow! Very impressive game! I loved the mood in it, the art was great, and it was a really cool concept. Some of the levels I found were easy because you could just make him stuck in one spot using conveyors until the last 2-3 moves. My biggest gripe was sometimes it was difficult to remove items with right click.

Very well done!

Love the art for this game, the audio fits really well, The gameplay idea is solid but i feel its slightly clunky to play. All in all a great game and I think with a bit of polish without the constrains of a jam could be awesome :D

really enjoyed this entry! the tutorial levels were really helpful, and i managed to finish every level, even a round of chaos mode! sadly, level 2-3 didn't recognize that i won, but i still count that as a win. really loved the graphics and music, gave the whole think a vaporwave kinda vibe. all in all, an incredible entry!

Art was AMAZING, but I really wish I understood the mechanics better. I found it extremely frustrating ESPECIALLY because it looks lie the kinda game I would LOVE to play!

Great color design, character and polish! I was running into that issue pretty frequently where I couldn't remove blocks unfortunately, but really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately I couldn't play all the way through cause I couldn't pick up the blocks. You should definitely fix it and publish a second version, cause it looks really good.

GREAT game! This one hits all the marks in my opinion. Solid puzzle game design, great engaging graphics, fun music and sound effects, and perfectly fits the theme. I particularly like the curved monitor effect, really gives it a vintage feel. The only piece of criticism is that the controls weren't always responsive, sometimes I had to click multiple times to remove a piece, and sometimes it would never get erased and I'd have to restart the level. It can also feel a bit slow, after seeing my current design fail I want to be able to quickly make changes and see if it'll work right away. But I'm also probably just being impatient haha. My complaints can be easily fixed, but considering the time constraint it is incredibly robust, fantastic job!

I like the pixel art and music. Right click sometimes doesn't seem to work, but otherwise solid game!

Wow! Love the neon pixel art style and the CRT monitor adds to the effect nicely, the music fits really well, but i did struggle to figure out what to do but got there in the end, a label for each component could help too, apart from that really cool game! well done!

The mechanics is really nice and the art style is really cool. It would be nice to have this game released as full game and more levels, cause the idea is solid and fun to play with. It would be nice to have a way to remove objects cause every time I changed my mind I had to restart the level, but with the music and art and game mechanics this is without a doubt one of the best games I played

Amazing game design - starting from mechanics and graphics and ending at sounds ;) There are some moments of unresponsiveness, but overall feel is great due to good feedbacks, it is a very polished game, congrats!

really nice entry here -- little hard to figure out the tiles -- good pace -- nice game
