I wanna try this, but I keep getting a 404 error from itch.io saying the page isn't there. Not sure if anyone else if having this problem, but let me now when it's fixed!

Ohh! Thanks for letting me know! I had published the game private and not public on itch! That's what happens when you are tired at night. :D The link should work now. Thanks for trying! :)

It worked! Sweet, but short :D I was very confused by the ladder, I thought I could climb by jumping or holding the up-arrow, I didn't realize you have to mash it :D I was also confused by the end screen, I kept waiting for level 2. Good work :D

Haha yeah I know! My first platformer ever. I spend most time doing a tutorial. So I was just happy to have one level done. :)

Hehe, I also waited for level 2. The mechanics are simple, but they work well. With more levels, this could be a solid platformer. I really liked the glasses mechanic.

Really nice entry!

I like how things became more obvious when it got glasses (I think there's a really neat seed for a nice game idea in that).

The music is calming and fitting!

Good work :)

I think you could design more level and add some PUZZLE in game that will be good.

Nice work. Liked the music though it was a little loud. Good little level to get the core concept across

I can see your idea, I wish some more levels (and clothes for the little guy). But you know... your game is fully working, it's already good :)

I feel like I've seen this character before. Kirby, maybe? Anyway, it was getting interesting but then it ended hahahaha Only one level? ok :D

The Tap-to-climb could have been modified to just hold the up key.

Otherwise well done!

Love the music and sound. And the level design flows. That's definitly much better than mine piece. The ladder stuck me for a while until I figure out how to climb. I think it's the feedback, when you climb a little, you fall, you have to frequently tap up arrow, not just pressed up to climb

I think most of the problems with this come down to time pressure. I like the concept you got going and I think that it could make an interesting puzzle game if elements if more time was had for level design. The biggest thing I had a problem with is the jump when hitting a wall above made it feel like the character was floating rather than jumping so when hitting a wall above it should set the jump to start falling rather than continue to try and go up. Great use of theme though.

@thevideogamester Thanks your for the feedback. I agree about the jumping. That bothered me too. 🤣 Next time I will fix that. This was my first platformer and Ludum Dare.

@trito I recommend Jonas Tyrollers' video called 5 reasons your indie game platformer sucks. It goes through some cool tips on how to make platformer movement even more crisp. Overall it was strong with the theme though unlike most of the games I have played so it was a solid entry

I like the execution on the idea quite a bit, and it fits well with the theme.

As others have pointed out, more "Levels" to complete than just the one would have been great. Otherwise, I get the idea and I find it charming, especially with the casio keyboard backing it.
