Cute game, I really liked the graphics and sound ! The isometric controls made it a bit hard to control. Overall, a good entry ! :)

Pretty cool visuals, nice audio, basic but solid gameplay. Only gripe is it's weird controlling something isometric with WASD, but whatev.
Nice job.

The isometric perspective made the controls very hard to take a grasp... but besides that, I liked the game! The song is very catchy, the graphics are very pleasant and the difficult progress was well made! Good job to everybody involved!

I thought the game was very cute, and I really enjoyed the graphics. Although my one complaint would have to be that it was kind of confusing and the controls were kind of weird to use.

wow, the quality struck me. looks like a finished product. Moving in isometry is sometimes confusing, but you get used to it quickly.

As most people have said above me, this feels finished. It has a lot of character. My only gripe is the controls. They seem to rely on my left hand too much. As a result it started to feel like a work out in later levels. Other then that keep up the great work!

So cute! It took a bit to realize how to orient myself to give the items to the things, but the shadows helped. The design in general is very well thought out, and the tutorial was great. The movement felt choppy - but was it meant to create a sense of hopping maybe?

@shabbyrtist @unlockingcube

It's amazing seeing so much love for what's not just my first Game Jam game, but my first game that actually saw release (and first experience with Unity)! Our artists put in some serious work getting everything looking and sounding as nice as it does!

@kooshy
The movement's choppiness is intentional, but at least a bit more pronounced than intended. I *made* the game and still find myself tapping the arrow keys instead of holding them down. Turns out, making the player wait half a second between movements is probably a little too high for it to feel right, haha.

Cute game, with an enjoyable gameplay loop that is accompanied by charming graphics and music. A small piece of graphical polishing would be having Frogbert's mouth open when he attacks and have it be closed otherwise. The game's greatest weakness is the isometric perspective, which artificially inflates the game's difficulty and diminishes its fun factor. Partially due to this perspective, the penalty for selecting an incorrect item feels somewhat too great, an issue that could be resolved by the removal of the trash hole and instead allowing Frogbert to swap the item he currently has with the item on the lilypad he attacks. In addition, there is a minor bug on level one in which Frogbert's tongue extrudes from below his mouth. Overall, very nice work.

Thank you for your feedback, everyone! We're definitely looking into alternatives for the movement and clarifying some features/actions for further polishing post-jam. We made a stylistic choice to keep it isometric, and it's a tough one! Hopefully with some more testing we can figure out a good solution for the movement and to finish the UI elements we ran out of time to complete! Hopefully with some more polish, some of you would give our game a try again - but we would have wait until after the play + rate is finished!

Your feedback has been noted, we've talked among ourselves for tweaks and fixes to do that should make it a bit easier. Look forward to trying more games from you guys, thank you for a great LD :frog:

Frog Love :frog:

Man, the atmosphere is soooooo cute :green_heart:

The graphics are super cool, the upbeat music is really, _ really _ good and all in all the little world has something wholesome to it. The gameplay works really well, too. It's some kind of fun condensed single player Overcooked. As everyone has noted, isometric movement is really unintuitive. But that's okay, one can get used to that. Very nicely done game! The Toad King approves! :frog:

Out of curiosity, why did you choose isometric perspective? You mentioned it was a conscious decision. Was it just because you liked it or does it serve a larger purpose? It's a fun game. Lots of polish for a short time span.

That music!!
Hey so... the music was reeaaaaally good, like pro-grade kind of good.
The art is great too, although the view is a bit frustrating and makes the controls feel a bit confusing.
The game in itself is fun, cute and all. Also it seems to me that the take on the theme is a little bit far-fetched.
But it's nicely done, and just needs a litlle more polishing :)

Really enjoyed the graphics and music and sound and just the idea in general. I did find controlling the frog a bit tough until I got used to the directional controls. I think you guys also did a great job with the mood!

@hwaet Heyo. Ultimately, it was just a stylistic choice, really, not much technical or larger purpose reason behind it to have it isometric and movement locked to grid. We liked the idea of having a very contained "world" to be in, almost like a toy box. We were looking into allowing for camera rotation, to allow for players to find another angle, but then we'd have to also rework our movement system to be more flexible in regards to which angles you're facing. It seemed to make sense to us all the way up until delivery, and then a lot of people are telling us it doesn't make sense. But that's OK! We'll likely be trying different things and reworking or improving on the movement at some point though. Maybe allow movement to be free-form but perspective to be isometric. We'll see! Hard to know how others will like it when you playtest in a vacuum :frog:

@entropy The music is actually done by my friend who works as a composer for a game studio! He was gracious enough to bless us with two short custom snippets of music. Your other feedback, like those of others, is noted but not much we can do about that now :sweat_smile:

SO. CUTE. Ok, first of all, it's a very enjoyable game. I really liked the "overcooked-like" aspect of it, and the ingredient river makes it very exciting whenever you see the ingredient you need going by. Catching the ingredients with your tongue is a very original mechanic, and you need to be on your toes the whole time while remembering what the flies crave for. Very cool, great job!

This is cute! Loved the polish - art and music both. I had a hard time with the controls at first however, I expected W to move forwards and S backwards - wasn't expecting it to move in their literal directions. Unconventional, so took a little while to get used to. But otherwise, great job!

Music and graphics are excellent. But Spacebar+Sift Key didn't know what he was doing during the game. From level 2, I didn't know what to do. If I understood the game, I would have had more fun.

Really nice game. Graphics are really cute and the music fits very well with it. Controls are a bit confusing and I think WASD was not the more indicated controls for isometric games. But I had a lot of fun playing this game. Good job on it!

That was such an awesome entry! Very clever use of the theme, and being a huge fan of overcooked I had a blast playing this! Love the graphics and music. I do agree with a lot of other comments that the main culprit here would be the controls, but other than that a really flawless entry! I love the game progression and the way that the game teaches you how to play throughout the first levels. Awesome job team!

this frog is looking very culinary! I'm not sure if by calling it frogbert it's a reference to dilbert but I would like to imagine frogbert is a member of the dilbert fanverse and dogbert is floating tomato slices down the river

Graphics are good, when running the web version it is slow and laggy, you want to be careful that in a game where precise movement is important that you maybe only do one step per key press or you have checks so it doesn't move too much.

Very impressive design though.
