Circle Raider by Owen Shriver

[raw]
made by Owen Shriver for Ludum Dare 45 (COMPO)

My first Ludum Dare game! Made in Unity.

A roguelike exploration game with abstract art. Controls and instructions are in-game. Start in the middle of nowhere, pick a direction, and search until you find something.

Interesting game! Slow paced, music atmospheric, but also a bit of bullet hell? Fun.

I was wandering around for a long while and I thought the game was broken, but I finally found a dungeon and started to raid it. It is an interesting concept, but I think it could do with some better tutorials. Pretty cool overall.

Good concept! As it stands it's a little basic, but could definitely be fleshed out into a full game. I like the music!

Nice game, placeholder graphics and the controls could be explained better!

I found one screen's worth of walls but there wasn't anything happening near them. The screenshots make me think there's more to this game, but I couldn't find it after several minutes wandering.

There needs to be more direction to where the player is supposed to go. Wandered for five minutes before finding anything. Also, the game suddenly just switches to enemies shooting at you out of nowhere. While, I feel the vastness was to be more on theme, I think it was too on theme, there was so much nothing it got a little boring walking. Once the enemies showed up the game got a little more interesting. Maybe just start in the maze and get a gun quickly. I did enjoy the music.
