Star Twit: H. Nothing by ogre
Hubert Nothing sure is a twit. He lost all of his spaceship parts. Somehow he has to escape this floaty physics world.
This game is web-only. Created with Pixi.js, Box2D, typescript, bfxr, aseprite. Play with keyboard controls in your browser.
I guess starting with a spaceship is technically not starting with nothing. But he can't do anything until he luckily runs into some missing parts.

Box2D physics are fun!

Easily spent 5-10 minutes playing. Good job!
Some more detailed thoughts:
- I found it odd that the bouncy-ball cannon didn't have any sort of "kick" when fired.
- The center-of-gravity of the ship feels "off", though it might be because of the camera motion rather than because of the ship motion itself.
The bouncy ball cannon does have a tiny bit of kick. It probably could do with more.
Throwing bouncing balls around to steer was really fun, but it made my PC lag a lot
(my fault for playing ludum dare games on a low end PC I guess)
I think the start could've had a faster pace. It took a while to be able to move and during that time I was wondering if you had omitted control instructions. Also, an indication of where the level portals were would've been appreciated (though again maybe forcing discovery was your intention, which is fair enough).
I found some sfx pretty harsh to listen to and ended up muting the audio sadly.
Controlling the ship was insanely difficult, but possible. The wave of balls in the last level was fun.
The graphics and sounds are quite simple, yet effective in this game. They give that vintage nostalgic vibe. The controls and mechanics are quite simple to understand, and even with this the game came with nice puzzles.
Also, i laugh at that bouncing ball rain. Good job on this game!
