Escape the Minotaur by mrabnox
This game is a Ludum Dare 45 Submission. It is progressing game, where you need to run from the Minotaur, and if you can possibly defeat it! You can progress over time getting more stronger, and it is easier to kill the Minotaur!
This game was developed by University students from S.A.E. London, for some this game is the second game ever developed, for some it is the first! It was a really funny experience, even though we couldn't polish the game as much as we wanted and everything was breaking last minute. It was a good experience, and I hope you enjoy it!
We learned a lot in this project, which was what we were most looking forward to! Since this was everyone's first jam, it was very frustrating but very cool to work so closely and the team kept motivating each other!!
Sadly we couldn't put the game in the web sorry!
The controls are:
Right click - Bring torch up, can light other torches if close enough. Left click - Attack if you have a sword W-A-S-D - Move E - open chest, grab torch from wall

Sorry about that!
It seems like it needs to be optimized quite a bit, I was getting a frame rate slowdown pretty significantly the whole play through.
But, I was able to see past that, and enjoy myself anyway! Definitely suspenseful and could be tons of fun if refined to play smoother!
Very cool, nice graphics! Keep working on this!
Sinon une bonne réalisation !
Cons: Optimization for frame rate and lighting. The minotaur's footsteps could be made more evident to increase the tension of the game. Some things that I was confused about were that the chests took up my keys without opening, not sure if they required more than one key or a bug. I was also not sure about the function of the sword.
I'd give it a 7.5/10, great work!
In seriousness, I like the pacing and the moodiness of the game. Using lighting like this is a clever way to make simple (or nonexistent) textures look much more exciting and atmospheric. I think some work could be done in the realm of ambient sound effects. but the minotaur sounds definitely gave me a scare the first time I heard them.
Nice job!
Overall this was a solid entry. If you manage to clean up the framerate a bit I'd be interested to give it another go. Nice work!
The all around ambiance is on point, got my pulse going the first time the Minotaur came along, second rund he was very quiet, i was left to my own thoughts as i wandered the gritty corridors
found some texture tearing in the walls but other than that, overall i was missing some sound and a bit more ambiance audio. I gotta say i like it tho, despite the genre not really being my thing. it's doing what it's supposed to haha, well done!
