You are a lone traveler in the deepest reaches of space. Your challenge is to become the wealthiest one of all. To do this, you need to collect resources and develop your ship. However, there are others who are doing the same. Can you survive? Let's see.
- Not multiplayer, it's AI
- Only tested on Windows devices (probably works on other devices if Unity does it's job)
- Gamepads are supported but only for the spaceship movement. Menus are not controllable using a gamepad so a mouse will be needed.
PLEASE excuse the massive controls image on the start screen. I had to throw it in somewhere to inform the player but I didn't have time to do it well. I hope you appreciate that I at least provided you with the controls instead of leaving you in the dark. Once again, I am sorry about the eyesore.
Note: There are a lot of bugs and content that is unfinished. I tried to make a game that simply wasn't feasible for a 48hr game jam so QoL is not the best. I hope you enjoy what I made though!

Again and again.
Maybe I didn’t understand something ...
There are two "views"
Galactic view
Solar view
Galactic view is the screen where you see all the dots. You can click on each one. These dots are solar systems.
If you clock "Go", you will travel to the solar system (Solar view) where you can collect resources from planets using your mining laser, kill enemies using your spacey rifle, or sell resources at the Station (the triangular object orbiting close to the sun).
When in the solar view, you can...
W / S = forward / backward
A / D = rotate
Shift + W / S = boost (Very important)
LMB = mining laser (Your mining laser starts out very small. I noticed that people don't notice the mining laser when they've zoomed out as you can't see or hear it so they assume LMB does nothing).
Space = shoot (Shooting is poorly made so I wouldn't recommend trying to fight enemies. It's my first try at making an AI and it actually turned out better than I expected!)
Thanks for the review! :) I had plans for a game that was too complicated for a Ludum Dare which resulted in me failing to provide a lot of features and QoL to the player... but i'm still proud of what I did get done :)
I completely mistook the mining laser for a combat weapon (glanced over controls), so my attempts at having fun with combat were... ouch :)
I found keyboard+mouse to work fine, but my gamepad didn't respond mostly, aside from shooting/zooming.
Thanks for the feedback!

As an aside, the Linux download does not work (broken graphics), but the web version seems fine on Chrome (still on Linux)
I think some visual aids would have improved my experience by alot.
Keep making games! This has some potential.
The sound effects are very plain and simple, but they suit the feel of the game perfectly.
The UI's not particularly beautiful and the combat isn't much to speak of, but the game has an absolutely wondrous sense of scale. The plain black background really feels like the vast, empty expanse of space.
There's a sort of beautiful loneliness to it.
On the other hand I wish this feeling was pushed in a way that you just collect scraps and build more and more stuff instead on focusing on a fighting machanic (and fuel and HP). Fighting is really hard and isn't very rewarding. I would suggest next time to have less mechanics but pushing them further! (even if I'm myself guilty of having the same tendency ^^')
Even if I give my opinion, be sure that I loved your game and the feeling I had while playing, congrats!
Despite my criticism, I think it was well done given the 48 hour time frame. I have found one of the most difficult parts of Ludum Dare to be balancing what I want to do with what I can actually accomplish in the time frame. I have had some features in the past that did not get implemented as well, so I know what it's like.
Great start to a tried and true type of game with, I think, some elements that make it your own.
