You are a brand new baby Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) and you are hungry for flies! But beware: there's a bunch of guinea pigs on the loose, and they're coming to knock you off your sunny perch. Use the arrow keys or WASD to dodge piggies and the space bar to chomp at flies. See how long you can last!! (Exit the application with Q)

Note: Web version has been updated since initial publication. Start-up lag has been reduced, controls were adjusted to be less slippery, and graphics settings were changed so shadows are rendered in webgl viewport. Assets & code remain unchanged, otherwise.

Hi I'm making a game about a plant.

For a first-time submission, this is pretty good! The base is there, you got some music, thesound effects were allright as well, if not a bit loud. The flytrap controls a bit clunkily - I'm not a big fan of ice level physics, although it kinda fits since it's literally a potted plant jumping. The slipperiness doesn't lend itself too well to the overall gameplay, since the main objective is to dodge and eat flies - two things requiring some degree of precision. The wait time right in the beginning is a bit long, feels kinda awkward, like it's a bit too much. But overall, again, it's not too shabby for a first time game!

thanks @corny ! It is a first-time submission and it's sloppy as hell! If I had more time I would have improved the playability for sure.

Pretty fun game. If you ever wondered what a Dark Souls/Tetris crossover would look like, look no further.

This homeowner certainly has a lot of loose guinea pigs running around. When I was a kid ours got loose and it was horrifying because we wanted it to be safe and not somehow get out into the yard. :0

Anyway, not bad stomping around on a table nabbing flies. The traffic is pretty busy though.
Basic little game but it's good that you were able to bring something together. Keep iterating and making new stuff. :v:

I was a fly trap danceing around and a guinea pug push another guinea pug off the table. It was beautiful.

Overall cool game but needs more flys. I really liked being able to get stuck under the table.

I hope this is a representation of your life, full of guinea-pigs and fly traps.

yum the flies are especially filthy looking making them even more appetizing this is really how one should simulate a gladiator match and I realize it may not be intentional but when the guinea pigs flip upside down but they keep walking it had me quaking

I love the guinea pigs!!! All the animations are really cute. The game itself is pretty challenging but fun because there's always a lot of movement going on. Great job!

Definitely very rough around the edges, but an interesting concept nonetheless!
