Eleven is a 2D Repetitive Puzzle Simulator™ where your character has touched a mysterious, but cursed clock. Now, stuck in a dimension where time flies by, you have to solve puzzles (Straight Out Of Hell™) to reach the end portal that leads out of this dimension that troubles you.

While you’re crawl through this world you can find items (clocks, eleven of them!) that raises your limited time. Because you’re starting with just 20 seconds on the clock. This, as being said, can be raised so you have more time to go deeper into this dungeon-like dimension.

Have a close eye on what each lever or button does, there are multiple possibilities. Dont forget to avoid traps of all sorts.

Now then, up to this point you have probably spend more time reading than your starting time might be. Time to get out of this loop. Lets go!

What an amazing game! Trying the same thing a few times before getting the "aha-this-is-how-it-works" epiphany was super rewarding. Well done both!

What a challenging game, haha. The timer is really unforgiving. But overall I really liked your game. I like the idea and the aesthetics are very nice, even though they are simple :)

Great game and it fits the theme so well, graphics are decent, I like the sound effects. I gave it a lot of my time but it always felt like I was advancing an inch every 10 minutes, played for , I wish I could see more of the game but it was too frustrating for me. Maybe I'll come back to it later. But still this game is very very good dont get me wrong.

Torn about this game. It seems quite clever and interesting, but I guess the difficulty was just a tad too great, and the rewards a tad too small to really keep me interested for a really long time. Looking at the map screenshot there are many levels that I didn't even get to experience. The moment you realise that the map persists through the time loop is really satisfying. The traps become really annoying, but at least reaching the first clock got me out of repeating the first levels over and over. Thanks so much for the game. It really made me feel like your idea could be amazing, if you only give the player a few more doses of dopamine once in a while to pull us through the difficulty. This comment seems really critical when I reread it, but I guess its because I actually liked the game a lot :)

@m0dsat Thanks for the feedback! You are right that the game is pretty hard (~~and unfair to be honest~~). A bunch of systems doesnt get introduced well enough and to open the first important door to the end portal (from the starting point the door to your right) you encounter 4 different lever-variations. Thats more confusing at that point than helpful. We talked about those issues afterwards so we already learned a ton by creating this game. Hopefully our future puzzle-like games will be more rewarding and less frustrating :D

@digitaldude555 Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

@iluvatar Thanks for the nice words!

@milestone-games Yeah we tried to get those feelings out of the player. Happy to hear that this worked. Thanks for playing!

Really interesting idea, I think I'd definitely appreciate a tutorial for this sort of game - it'd be a HUGE improvement!

It was interesting, but way too unforgiving. Checkpoints would work better then increasing time, because they don't force player to play through one path again and again, although I get that it was the core idea.

I like the sound design, very pleasing. :) And cool pixel art.

Fun and interesting idea! Unfortunately my camera stopped working some time after I got the fifth clock and I couldn't move upward into rooms :( overall a great experience though!

@noah-kuhn That sucks especially when you already put so much effort in the Game. But thanks a lot for playing our game.

@etrealjunior Thanks for playing our game :)

@yngvarr Yeah the game went partially much harder then expected or initially thought of. Think its my "Fault"
But thanks for playing

As you've said, and other feedback.. yeah, it's challenging.. the only "unfair" challenging bit I encountered in the various areas was entering the room only to immediately get hit by an arrow or something else in the near path.. on numerous occasions.. and yes, I should learn my lesson, but I would have appreciated getting a better lay of the land on entering new rooms.. a sort of 'safe' area, and not having to make sure I slowly creep into a room so I don't go beyond the doorway, which is quite the juxtaposition to the mad rush against the clock. That said, you guys made a great game.. yes it's challenging, which isn't for everyone - sound effects, theme, mechanics, etc. were all well executed, with many great puzzles to figure out!

I loved the game.. Very fun and just fast paced enough.. And im glad that it saves your state just long enough to keep progressing.. Well done!

Fun game and an cool concept. I encountered a bug where I ended up out of bounds by doing a screen transition as the timer ran out. Interestingly enough, I was able to interact with switches through the wall!

@silvae yeah we know about that transition bug. We think we know where the problem is, but we wont change it now. It takes to many changes in the system behind the scenes. And yeah, those switches have a bigger collider so you can interact with them easily that way. At least you didnt have trouble there with those arrows :D

Thanks for playing!

heheheh https://www.screencast.com/t/ePwxn8aA0OZ OH MYYY that room with the falling tiles. Bother i fell so many times in that room. i got shot a lot of times trying to get down into that room. i'd be soooooooo much more forgiving if you spawned in the room you died, but no you have to go back every single time to walk through 3-4 rooms just to fail again in a different way because there's nothing in the game that tells you where to walk. (trial by error) :O Things I liked: smooth transitions, levels feel like levels, sounds are quaint :) visuals do a great job of communicating to you. I liked the switch that you had to get to and realize you just had to start over to get it to work. :D

Not gonna repeat everything above that I would have said if I were the first. I'm gonna add a bonus point for the sound effects that I find very cool.

I don't have much to add that others haven't already said. I agree it was satisfying to solve the first puzzle, but as soon as I got kicked back to the first room after failing the pressure pads, I got super sad :( I would love to play more, as it seems like it could be a really fun puzzler!

Cheers!

(Edit) Okay, I just had to play some more. It's making me think of the super hard old console games where you would play for hours and hours just to make progress. In that sense, this is a very nostalgic game. You have to put in the work to make progress, so you got that going for it!

This made me feel super smart, then super fruststrated! The design is really well done to fit with everything and that ticking was getting under my skin in the perfect way! the time showing milliseconds when hit 5 was making me panic!. Its a cool idea and I'm a little sad I couldn't get further as the first few puzzle has such a good 'Aha!' pay off. Great job, nicely executed!

Thank you very much to play the game and currently I really start to hate myself because I was the guy of us two who designed the first 2 Areas of the Game. And unfortunately we only hit Sunday Night the point where we really discussed about the point that this part is too hard especially for the beginning.

But nevertheless Thank yo all soooo much for playing it and trying to beat the game.
And I can promise and eventually prove you that the game is totally beatable. With or Without all the secrets of the Game ;)

@deathstorm Don't feel bad! Sometimes it's good to balance a game to be easy for a jam so that everyone can experience all of it, but the fact that yours was such a challenge only increased my enjoyment of it over time. I probably played your entry the longest of any entry, because I was so invested and felt challenged. that's a good thing! :)

The start looks nice, and the ticking clock works great, but I just couldn't figure it out :( Looking forward to see a playthrough by someone more competent later!

Genuinely enjoyed this, really liked the idea. However it is TOO difficult and needs some sort of tutorial. That being said, well done.

You already seen my enjoyment slowly transform into rage as I kept falling down in that one room (you know which one!) but maybe if you want to be entertained by my mounting anger, here's me playing it on my stream:
