Float Away by Inusun

[raw]
made by Inusun for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Float away is a game where you "Start with Nothing", but quickly gain items, that will auto craft into higher quality items that will allow you to gain more items. If you gain too many items you will become too heavy and lose. Gaining enough balloons will allow you to float away winning the game. Controls are WASD for movement and left click to harvest from a node.

UPDATE Corrected a few graphical issues Fixed a bug in the crafting recipes Fixed another bug that now makes the game beatable.

It wasn't really clear which things crafted into what, so I ended up collecting too much of one thing and basically couldn't move at all :P
Also the graphics seem pretty messed up in the web version.

I can appreciate the work that went into this  well done.

Great start here! I can see this turning into something great with some polish. The collection system was a bit muttled. Hard to know where I stand with resources and what I need to gather to create the balloons. I really liked the walk cycle and move states.

Nice idea. However, the texture of the webgl version doesn't look right.Mission systems and collection systems are also not very clear.

An innovative idea, but there's not a lot of guidance for the player.

Seems like a promising start to a unique game. I think the character looks nice, and the graphics are pretty good with the exception of the weird seams between tiles. Unfortunately, it was really hard to understand what things turned into what other things, since it all happened instantly. It could also really use some simple sound effects to give weight to your actions.

Fun game - I really like that the crafting is automated. It's a nice way to frame a clicker game! Although eventually I punched too much stone and got really heavy and over-encumbered  Anyway, you guys should definitely make more games together!

I know I'm in a super minority here, but I'd really like to see support for arrow keys and a keyboard button to harvest. How do you get sand? Overall, this hit the theme really well.

Nice start and congrats on your submission. As mentioned it was hard to tell what was being crafted when I was picking items up. I would say the biggest drawback for me would be getting the ground tiles lined up a little better.

Fun game, saw some sprite issues that made it a bit buggy at times, but nothing too game breaking.

Intestering take on the gather/craft game genre, funnily done and plays smoothly! The getting heavier and losing the ability to walk was hilarious. Good job!

The autocrafting system was a bit unclear to me - wasn't sure what turns into what when and why. But it's a nice start and a very good concept!

Autocrafting was definitely confusing, not sure what/how to use when... Good work on sprites though
