The Night Of The BEAST by Fer9001

[raw]
made by Fer9001 for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You have been cursed by a cosmic being known to the villagers as the "BEAST".

At night you must carry out the sacrifice of the victims to keep the monster and yourself alive.

Feed the beast inside the church with the villagers without the watchers seeing you.

First jam ever, let me know what you think.

Nice game!

The graphics look nice, very retro but I love it!

The music convays the theme of the game pretty well (however, there is a problem, I could only hear it in my left ear, perhaps a bug?)

The gameplay fells nice, although the character controls a bit weridly (basically, pressing W and D at the same time to make it move diagonally would have been nice)

Overall, I like this game!

Decent game! I would recommend adding some sort of progression. Allow the player to feel like they're accomplishing something or becoming more powerful in some way. I was collecting corpses for the monster but i wasn't getting rewarded with new game mechanics or more powerful versions of existing mechanics. I was asking myself "why am i doing this" the entire time i was playing.

I enjoyed this game a lot! I really like the retro look of it. I liked the idea of those red ghosts appearing when you killed someone, which opens the game up for small strategies like "I shouldn't kill the nearest people, it would makes this area harder" (but I think there should be a small note about these guys - I got killed in the first round because I didn't know they're deadly).

I noticed one guy in the upper left corner and it seems I couldn't reach him. Maybe an additional path might be nice.

Btw. I don't think a progression system is necessary. I mean, why you are killing the people? Because you want to feed the beast!

Nice visuals! I love how the screen bends to the center. Cool concept too, stealth games are always fun! Deffinetely expand on this by making new levels or make random levels. Nice work!

I love the that simplistic pixel art! Also plus points for using Godot! And that vignette post-processing made the game look more retro! Loved it!

Wow, pretty scary tbh. The art and sound were simply giving out an eerie feelings without me doing much, like those old DOS arcades. Nice job over there! The goal of the game was not very clear to me at the start, I ended up getting killed several times. This is a good mix of horror and stealth, with profound emphasis on atmosphere. Seriously, this game has many potential, hope you have do a follow up !!!

I really enjoyed this game, the beast is one hungry mofo!

Once I had an understanding on everything that could kill you in the game then the game really became enjoyable to play. The controls were really smooth and I loved the old CRT effect you had on the screen.

It would be great to see some randomness in the enemy AI but apart from that there is not a lot I could recommend to make this any better.

Really well polished game, thanks for the link :)

Hey, thanks for tuning into my stream and linking your game!

Very cool retro style and nice simple stealth gameplay. Good job!

I didn't quite get to see the ending there, so I replayed the game later and made a video.

This is a really nice game actually! I liked the art and the mood and sounds and the camera effect. It took me sometime to figure out that the flashlight guys cant be killed, and I didnt understand why the beast eats me when they catch me. Overall awesome game, definitely needs more ratings! What exactly happened inthe ending? The beast still ate us?

I totally love this creepy graphics, maybe it's because I', really into horror games. The graphics is absolutely amazing. I just hope you will consider making a post LD version with more challenges in the game, maybe add some story into it. This reminds me of Faith somehow :)))

Nice game! Agreeing with @sandra-martinez, I loved the creepy effects too. Did not know that you had to avoid the blood of the villagers I had killed or I would have got to 7 people(I played it 7 times till I got to 6). The difficulty increases gradually and I loved that! Lovely horror music!!!

1. This is A nice short Entry

2. The Oldschool style really gives it a good mood

3. The Audio is good, unfortunately the main music does not loop correctly
