PostCat by Number6406
Story (Yes, there is one)
Meow ! The PostCat must deliver all it's packages. But there is a small problem. He really is careless and he might get hurt... Even worse : the packages wouldn't be delivered at all. What a shame ! :scream_cat:
Your role is to help him to avoid all the traps from the post office to peoples' house.

How to play
Click on items you want to drop on PostCat's path and land them on the floor in order to help him brave the dangers ! It's that "simple" :cat: You can also try to cat(ch) the envelopes as an additional challenge !
Don't worry, there is a tutorial to guide you :smiley_cat:

But, these are the only some introduction problems for the players; the overall game concept is excellent!
Very good entry for this Jam.
As mentionned, the difficulty curve is pretty hard but, i like the way we can retry again and again in order to finish levels.
Great jobs, aesthetics are awesome.
I also ran into a bug where I restarted the second level too much times, which caused a message bubble from the previous level to pop up somehow, and I couldn't dismiss it? Very strange. Then I had to go back to the home screen and it hadn't saved my progress. :|
Anyway, I did like the twist on platforming! It had an Incredible Machine feel to it.
@darkfire92 : Got it ! This is the most common feedback you have got. We should add some intermediary levels with long platforms and more time to interact with objects
@lucisaurus : I wish you also could ! We knew the level 3 was a bit more difficult, but as we played a lot our game during the development we thought the level 2 was "easy" to pass. Thanks for letting us know it works perfectly on Mac, we haven't tested it yet !
@hiisileiri : I'm not sure I have understood everything about the things that are frustrating, but yeah, the traps are a bit too small. We'll work on this for a post-jam version ! The trampoline gives the player an up and forward impulse so he can jump over a hole or on an higher platform. Concerning the object placements, we don't really like the idea of making a grid system, we prefer the user to be free to place them anywhere on the map, so it can be "pixel-perfect" and optimise the run. However we have to work on the first levels so the player have time to place items prior to be lost because of all the actions he has to execute...
Thank you a lot for your relevant feedback :)
@fax : Thank you a lot, we'll take care about the difficulty curve :)
@caeonosphere : Thank you for this information about this bug, we'll try to find the origin and fix it :) We don't have a saving system for now unfortunately... I didn't know about Incredible Machine, I'll have a look at this, cheers
Thank you for playing our game and for your feedback !
I was wondering why it was getting so difficult from level 2, but the answer was simple: Only 3 levels, so the difficulty curve has to be very steep.
I think, with 4 more levels that slowly introduce one mechanic after the other, and then stepping up the difficulty for each would have been awesome! But hey, for a JAM 72h game, that's a wonderful concept you have there! :v: :smile_cat:
We hope to create a lot more levels with various items for an even more enjoyable gameplay for a complete game, yes
Cheers again!
The game itself is fantastically done, very polished, nice animations, nice graphic work, nice music. There's nothing to say except congrats on the wonderful job.
I really liked the tutorial.
One issue that I found is that you just lose items if you click the button multiple times.
And it would be really nice if you could press 1 and 2 to select the items. Because if you have to click it and then click to place it, it can get pretty hectic.
But it's a really solid game, good job!
I loved the mood. Art was awesome and music and sound effects fitted right in. I really appreciate the UI animations and transitions, they make the menu alive. The way you present the tutorial to the player is great, there are little number of games in this jam that have a tutorial at all, but you're the first team to use such an immersive way to present it. Helps a lot to understand the rules. The game and level design are very good, it starts simple but I did spend sime time to get through the last level. The only thing I would comment is that you seemed to focus more on the speed challenge while I would expect more of a puzzle challenge in such a game. Overall, I believe it's a solid base for a very fun game! Great job making it in just three days, you deserve the highest ratings!
Thanks for your report @stefan-laimer , we'll make sure it's not present in a final release  Glad you liked our game! We will also add the mechanic of choosing the item with the keyboard, even if we aim to launch it on mobile with a different way to place them.
Thank you a lot @mykola , your feedback gives us a lot of motivation! We will consider adding some puzzle levels in a post-jam version. It could be very interesting! :grinning:
The implementation, however... It's a bit too fast for me, to be honest. I just could not manage to put everything in there on lv.3 in time
Perhaps, if I'd have hotkeys, I would be able to, but mouse's way too slow for our cat.
Still, rated it high and wish you all the best with this nice and solid entry!
The flower pots are a little hard to spot when you're looking at other traps, maybe they should glow or something.
Don't know if it's intentional, but you can place springs in the air and make the cat double-jump (before the spring falls).
Also, I agree the level should restart right when you click the restart button. The thing I missed the most was being able to choose items with the keyboard – and maybe this will solve the first issue I mentioned, as you won't need to look at the items.
Thank you all for reaching the 30 votes!
@gus-the-shark Unfortunately the music isn't ours so we didn't ask for votes concerning it. In the future release we'll lower the difficulty for the first levels! Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Thank you @norris-eldridge :kissing_cat:
We will take your feedback in account @maytch , drag and drop could be very interesting for a mobile release! Cheers!
"Merci" ! @massealex
Sure @mykola , I will try to remember :stuck_out_tongue:
Level 4 @dummydojo ? I guess you're strong as there only have 3 levels
Having puzzles wasn't our first idea. We aimed for an arcade game, I guess. But it could be a great idea to implement this kind of levels as parallel challenges for the player
Alright @paulhocker , we will pay special attention to the controls! However we aren't very fan of pre-selected positions, it doesn't allow the player to make up it's own solution for a level... Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for playing and rating and giving us a feedback @firellon , sorry it was a bit difficult for you :scream_cat:
Cheers @igor-kingamer ! A lot of persons report us it was difficult to spot the flower, we will think about a solution for this
Yes, it is desired to be able to drop items in the air, so you can combine them to be able to double/triple etc. jump if you time it well. Yes, having two clicks in order to restart the game is too long ^^
Thanks @floyams !
