I seem to be encountering the same problem as SpaceWizardJ. Although I do find it funny that we have both made compo games in gms2 about goldfish

I am so sorry @spacewizardj and @untitled-studios It should be fixed now. something messed up when i did the final compile. I should have noticed when the file size was only 4.7MB

It's a fine little platformer. I wonder about the water-losing mechanism: maybe it would be a better match if you only lost water when moving quickly or something.

Just letting you know that this game triggers UAC. I'm not launching it.

Very nice game!

Solid looks, music and gameplay. I'm not a fan of too floaty movement, but it kinda works. Also good idea with the hidden things. Of course I had to collect everything and so Granny got a trip to Mexico ;)

I like the art and music! It had a nice casual adventure mood to it.

A couple pieces of feedback though. The movement mechanics were pretty floaty, which made climbing up the floating platforms at the beginning pretty difficult, since you had to do them in one go. If that was intentional then I'd suggest putting that challenge later, if not then I'd suggest reducing the floaty-ness of the movement. I also couldn't figure out how to improve my fish's water level! Maybe I just missed it somehow but It felt kinda impossible to get to all the 10 cans in time. Especially if you happen to hit one of the flowers, that was like guaranteed death. Lastly, the physics collisions for the flowers was a bit iffy in that, sometimes you'd get stuck on them instead of kill them.

I had a good time with it! But had trouble getting far enough in the game to appreciate it more.

P.S. if you made the audio, you should open ur submission to audio ratings!

@endurion Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The floaty movement was due to a glitch in my movement code that I unfortunately didn't have time to fix.

@william-derksen Thank you for the feedback. Music was not made by me unfortunately, was made on ecrettmusic.com, a site for generating music that is free to use in commercial products (there is a monthly fee for the service tho) The floaty-ness was caused by a glitch in my movement code that I didnt have time to fix. There were not clear instructions unfortunately, each level has a pool of water that refills the fishes water.

I really like the level design and the collectibles. Love the feeling of "There is collectible there but how do I get there?" and exploring around and finding the path, sometimes accidentally stumbling upon a secret. Really well made levels. Love the UI and the animations. Great work on the concept. It's a really well made game especially for being a Compo entry.

Overall, I'd say you made a pretty good game. The art and music are great, especially for a compo game. However, the movement was incredibly floaty, which the levels were clearly not designed around. This made the game far too difficult. Either the movement or levels would have been great if they were standalone, but in the current state they just don't compliment each other enough, making for a pretty good game instead of a great one.

A really good effort, and I liked the overall feel of it. With some improvement it would be a neat little game. Unfortunately, the level design felt a bit off, as if sometimes you were adding an extra step to move to another platform with no real reason other than to make it a little bit longer, not to increase the skill required to play. I also feel there were too many things to keep track of, what with the water level, time limit, fish food and extra bits. It isn't clear which is the one to be prioritising. I would recommend removing the time limit and having the water level reduce only when the player is moving. This would prevent the player from just running all around the level, and instead pay attention to their actions (a bit of strategy to go on top of the platformer). Awesome game for a compo submission
