13 Codes by JammyGunns

made by JammyGunns for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Escape the maze by entering found codes into the consoles to adjust the map. There is more than one path... be careful, taking a shortcut early can cause you to be trapped in a loop.

Great job on the game, very interesting! I got stuck in the loop a couple of times hahah. I found it a little hard to see some of the codes, the shadows were very strong in places.

Interesting idea for a maze, I sure did feel like I'm walking around in a loop. Good work!

Cool idea, the level design is awesome, Circled around for sometime. At first I did not understand what to do, then I found the clue and understood the game.

I thought I could outsmart the game by jumping onto the top of the walls but I kept getting stuck so I guess i got myself stuck in a loop.

The game obviously is unfinished like almost every game in LD, but I think its missing a key feature that would make it a lot more playable. It needs something, whether its sound or a visual queue to let you know what changed in the maze. Since all the walls are untextured, its pretty difficult to figure out if anything moved unless I run around before hand and memorize the layout.

And I agree with the other comment that said some of the codes were hard to read because of the lighting.

I liked the system for interacting for the consoles

Mazes can lack a lot of depth sometimes, but you managed to make this maze very engaging. The codes are a fun addition, especially since some of the panels had multiple codes opening different paths. I had a lot of fun and felt clever once I remembered a code I had found earlier that ended up opening the path I needed. The codes and panels were very well placed, as I felt like the pacing was consistent. It pushed me to progress further under my own intrinsic motivation. The towers and upper level was a clever design to allow the player to get a bird's eye view of how the maze has changed. The only minor improvement I could think of would be to make the player movement just a bit faster if I'm being picky. Overall, a very solid entry!

Very nice concept and use of theme, unfortunately I couldn't figure it out. I felt like the maze felt too samey and some kind of visual indicator was missing that could highlight what changed. I also missed a little ambient background music or sound effects, without a memorable visual or some kind of sfx, the game world felt too sterile and artificial.

Interesting concept for sure, being stuck in a maze that changes based on what you enter into the consoles. The thing is just that it's really unclear what does what, because there is barely any feedback at the moment. I would love to hear a little sound when I press something, or when a door opens, so I know what activated what, you know? Also, I think you could just make the buttons be pressed with left mouse click, it got me a bit confused that I had to use E. The maze itself is pretty intersting, but not very clear since you don't really get an overview. It'd be awesome if you could pull up a little map, showing you an overview look of the maze, so you could easily see what your actions did (what doors are open etc), and how you are supposed to go to the end. Hope you keep working on this. Good job :)

This game need more audio/visual feedback on actions and controls are not intuitive but it is pretty decent game for the jam)

Didn't really understand what to do after I made all the consoles go green. Couldn't find any other console for other codes, and half the codes I couldn't read because of the lighting. Cool idea though and for an untextured game the maze feels really oppressive and imposing so great work on it's design. Would love to see this get mre fleshed out, with some sound work too!

Great job!

Really enjoyed the theme. I managed to get stuck behind one of the consoles :D wish there were sound tracks and audio effects, though I think I heard a click whenever a door (wall) got opened. Loved the structure and the architecture
