tried different things, but it seemed to me that nothing changed with each day. Did up to 9 days, then I stopped. Sad, it seemed promising.

Nice graphics and music, but the gameplay is boring

Great visuals and music. Is it possible to break the loop though? I made it to day 3.

Lovely background music, but is there an end to the game or is the same loop over and over again?

"This game makes you really feel like a dad" - IGN

Joking aside, this is some very impressive work on visuals and sound design. The details and aesthetic you've cultivated is quite transporting.
I don't really understand the gameplay however. Are you supposed to complete the sequence of tasks before dinner is called?
Great stuff!

I probably had way more fun with this game than I should have, after the second or so loop I started "speedrunning" all the tasks, trying to get through the day as fast as possible. The usage of the theme itself is really creative and it's executed fairly well. If this were built upon in the future I do wish that you could actually get everything done in time if you do go fast enough, but I know that wouldn't fit the theme as much so it's barely a nitpick. Great, short and fun game overall.

We are indeed gonna rework the gameplay loop so that the main objective is to get the lightbulb from the cabinet and get to the door. You will get interrupted by random mini-tasks like at the moment. Once you learn the tasks and do them fast enough you will be able to beat the timer and exit the loop.
We are working on that but since we can't change the game until the voting period is over it will have to wait until then to be released :)
We might introduce shortcuts like with the keys or the screwdriver if you know where or which to pick up you will be able to skip some steps.

Right now the exit condition is the little pop up text in the main menu when you exit the game after the first day is over.

Far too realistic! :stuck_out_tongue: But seriously quite a nice game and the art is great. It'd be nice to have more freedom to try doing other things regardless of the order the tasks are given in.

It looks nice, the radio music is very chill and the setting / story is funny. But sadly I did not get what to do unless thats it, you can't escape the loop because you are stuck then jokes on you .. :D
But maybe some tips would clarify? Still liked it somehow

Really liked the art, designs, and mood. Tried to do the tasks quickly the second time but to no avail.

@desertmaw @zoomer It was a miss on our part, we thought that using the pause menu to go back to the main menu and giving you an ending to the story with the pop up text that you get after the first day would be enough to explain the ending as well as a funny way of presenting it. But we realized thanks to you guys's feedback that we should have done a gameplay ending where you make the tasks fast enough to beat the timer.

We are currently doing that just now as well as adding random tasks instead of always the same ones in the same order. This will not be out until the voting period is finished for the jam ofc.

We apreciate all feedback you all give us, this was our second ever jam so maybe we underestimated what was needed. We will finish this game and prepare for the next one with a new lesson learned :)

@owlycode @cyborgx7 Someone has found the inspiration for the game :bulb:

Cool idea, cool music and graphics. :tools:

The game play was initial interesting but as soon as the second day has started it became boring and frustrating since I have been forced to always follow the same pattern. For eg. The biggest flat screwdriver has always to be taken first and then the smaller one can be taken.

It might be a good idea to actually let player fix something completely each other day on the random bases without player knowing what will be fixable on that day.

i am quiet unsatisfaction after playing it. Sorry but totaly miss the mark for me. A Game needs a ending, resolution or conclusion.

Interesting game, but with each loop being exactly same is just boring and tedious. Even randomizing which of family members have a problem at time would be nice. Also fact that you HAVE TO do exact same things in exact same order is just stupid. Music and visuals are fine tho. Pretty nice work.

Really fun game. I couldn't pass it even when i practically speedrun it from my memory. Although, very good idea!

@pquiskamp totally agree. It was a big oversight on our end that we are fixing while remaking the core loop for the game. (Not released until the end of the voting period)
