Mazed Robot by Martin183

[raw]
made by Martin183 for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

You gain extra time when you complete a level. It costs one point to shoot, so don't waste your score!

Control with IJKL or arrow keys, select and shoot with F key. Jump with space. If stuck or falling out of level, press esc to get to beginning of level. The robot is stuck in a loop of levels, gain as high score as possible!

Particle effects just added to webgl version as we found a workaround with gles2!

Really cool - I love this style of 3d/2d platformer. My only gripe is that I wish I could hold space for a higher jump instead of having to spam it.

Neat game, I do think the jump should be higher. Love the way the camera turns around corners. You did a good job.

The fluidity of the character and camera motion is really good. I think the jump could be work to be more satisfying !

Cool game idea with the camera changing around the corner. The jump controls feel a little bit wobbly. Good Job

The music really fit the vibe of the game. The camera was nice around the corners but it got me confused by times when I had to take object around around corners. There were some spike lags when loading scenes, are you loading them async?

Good stuff! The first camera movement was a nice surprise and the music is fantastic.

Thanks for all comments! We made the camera control from scratch actually, we worked and tweaked quite much until we got it as we wanted, quite much fiddling with vector math but could probably be done more efficiently...

Great concept and great implementation.

The change in controls when the cube shifts makes it hard to move through some areas. This could be changed just by giving the player a little control over the camera rotation. Otherwise it's a cute game. It reminds me a bit of Captain Toad games, but with jumping. The jumping is a little janky, but I think with some refinement, and added control of the camera it would be a really good game.

Really nice core loop, i loved the art style, the controls were god until I got to the multiple jumps that worked sometimes and not so great other times, having to spam the spacebar a lot... and not having always the same result, 2 things I would like to be improved is having some kind of visual feedback on damage, since I had to look at the score each time just to notice that my health was greatly dropping, and the other one is, losing in level 2 I was expecting to start over the level, not the whole game. Other than that, this was really fun to play.

Fun game and very impressive for the limited time.

Platforming is generally enjoyable but can be frustrating having to spam spacebar instead of holding it down. I think there should be some audiovisual feedback when you take damage (I didn't really notice until I died!). This may also just be personal preference, but I would like the option of wasd for controls.

I really like the music. Graphics are nice, and again, I'm impressed that you made a decent 3D platformer in such a limited time. I also like seeing the Godot engine used :)

Reminded me of the 2D sections in Mario Galaxy. I like the artstyle and the game was simple and fun, though the jumping felt a little dull and it might benefit from a higher jump and being able to move back and forth messed me up on a few jumps. I really like the character especially!

This was really nice. I like the "2d" games with depth that way, idk what to call them. Music and graphics were pretty cool.

Only problem was having to spam spacebar, kinda felt like it didn't always work the right way. Other than that, great game. Good job
