Overrun by GameDevMatt

Red Book Games presents Overrun!
Players are given control of a spider mech in an earthy tube covered in hanging tree roots and littered with rocks and veins of ore, chasing down into the depths of the earth to eradicate swarms of alien bugs trying to reach the surface of the planet. The bugs rush towards the player, while firing corrosive bolts of plasma, who earns up points for each bug eliminated building a high score while preventing enemies reaching the surface and protecting their mech from enemy fire. When either the “hull integrity” is reduced to 0, causing the mech to explode, or enough aliens escape to the surface of the planet, the game ends.

Here's my score:

The only thing I could think of was that I didn't realise you could move the mouse at first and just thought the view was misaligned!
The 3D art is great and the sound design is quite pleasing too.
Really good.
I'd think about maybe having some indication as to where the player is aiming on the screen, but I found that spinning and firing worked fairly well.
the music and visuals are all really nice too, a good visual design and good music and sound effects.
a really solid entry! :D
Could use a bit more visibility on the enemy projectiles, and I found the enemies that just went straight forward a bit annoying, as it was impossible to shoot them without putting yourself in the line of fire, especially when 2 or more were aligned.
I chuckled at the voice lines :P, and the 3d art was not bad !
*Pilot ? Piloooot.*
I enjoyed your game, the graphics are good and sound too. Anyway the experience in general is pleasant. Congratulations.
- the shooting sound became a bit annoying after a while; maybe nudge the volume down a tiny bit
- the option to look around in the cockpit didn't seem to better anything and made keeping track of intergrity, weapon-status etc harder
- it's not very clear, how big the player is and how much you need to move out of the projectiles way. Adding audio or visual feedback to getting hit (like a screen shake, sparks, or a noise), would be helpful.
- hitting the enemies is not that easy either, as you need to shoot precisely while moving around is rather quick. A solution could be to shoot in the looking direction. Aiming with mouse would give the function to look around more purpose as well
Overall a decent game that I had fun playing.
