Marrow by Baconinvader
A basic oldschool 2D shooter in a randomly generated world, with a twist - killing enemies is necessary to survive. If you go too long without killing anything, the altar will lose its magic power and you will die. The time will run down faster and faster the longer you play, but more enemies and upgraded guns will make sure the action keeps going.
Made feedback and criticism is welcome and encouraged :)
NOTE: Versions 1.0.4 of the game and above were made post-jam. Play 1.0.3 if you want the jam version.

Oh- also, thank you for the in depth tutorial- it def made the experience more enjoyable for me- though I couldn't ever activate an upgrade. Huge Map! Thanks so much for the game!
Hey, sadly getting this error.
Anyway, nice graphics, nice gameplay, nice music, great project :D
One thing I'll add, though, is that there wasn't really any incentive for me to explore deeper into the level. In fact, I was better off camping right outside the altar surrounded by chests just so that I always had a supply of income and health packs. Maybe you could make the upgrades slowly increase in price and make the gold reward higher as you move further from the altar, making it vital to gameplay to go deeper into the level in order to continue to improve your character. Also, the teleporting enemies were a little annoying. If I'm not paying very careful attention to them then they'll teleport right on top of me and do unavoidable damage.
Overall I really enjoyed your game and I spent a lot of time playing it. Great work!

@krakadushka @joemid Sadly we can't really fix this since we can't seem to get the same error to happen on our end. Try downloading a newer version of the game? It's a long shot but it might work.
@brylamare this should be fixed in version 1.0.5
@acr515 Thanks a lot for the feedback! We were low on time by the time we got to the balancing phase, so we didn't have much time to focus on that. We might add it in a newer version :)
@duskel The error message usually shows up when attempting to close the game. It's a problem with python we didn't have time to fix.
@sleepystudios There is an option to let the file run and whitelist it from windows defender. This happened after a recent windows update which made the antivirus act more invasive.
@adam-clayden we would probably have added a more fitting weapon if we had more time :-) the gun was a placeholder
