I liked the game, but couldn't beat it.

I still don't understand the purpose of the executions in the end, i didn't notice any diference in the resources.

I think if the ui was more clear with the numbers in the influences, it would make more sense (Is hard to understand if the influencer is taking or givings resources).

Possible Bug Notice: The Screen flicks before transitions.

My favorite things:

--> The pixel art is very clear and polished.

--> The cutscenes are dramatic and impact-full.

--> The music choice is very cool.

Took a few attempts but it was a really fun game that was surprisingly strategic, I always ended up firing my spys when I was about to tip into the revolution. Farmers where always welcome, especially since alot of the executions felt like they required food. The Army bar (the muskets) seemed to be the hardest to fill. over all excellent entry

@toxichouse yeah, when the revolution starts, the values start ticking down per second instead of receiving a per day increase or reduction, and the resources given become a flat numerical increase. I think we should have communicated that better. The executions exist both to portray the 30 days of terror and to help balance your resources when they start ticking down. Thanks for the review!

The first run I didn't get much of what I was doing, how it all impacted stuff, but somehow won still. Second run it was more clear and got it too. It's a nice game, although I feel it needs a bit more of challenge. The graphics were great and the atmosphere overall was really good, immersive. Good job!

That was fun! Really liked puzzling with who to hire and to let go. After playing a few times I finally had the ultimate combo where I could spam 'Next day' and get all the resources. Still, on the last day, I lost apparently. Maybe I was missing 1 rank? I don't know. So that sucks, but I still had fun. Good job!

PS: You should probably opt out of the audio category since you used music that is not made by you during the jam.

What a nice game. Had a blast playing it, requiring careful decision making and balancing of different resources. I played three times, took me the first two playthroughs to really understand what was going on. Then in the last playthrough, I managed to fill up both bars completely and also had a lot of food and people, however the "Star" bar ticked down faster than I though it would! I really thought I had that one in the bag, but it got so close and I didn't have any people with me who I could have executed for the Star resource. :/ So, so close! I'll probably play again.

Victory o/ Despite being the first run, I managed to understand the importance of each icon. Managed to build an insane amount of star (popularity?) and won the game  Excellent setup with the sounds, musics and intro/outro! I laughed a lot!

Liberte! Finally got a win on my 4th attempt.

That was an awesome resource management simulator. The whole system was a bit confusing on the first playthrough, but after I got how UI worked it got much easier and more enjoyable. The only complaint is that having fully filled star or weapons isn't enough to get a victory as apparently max amount of resources isn't capped, and you need a bit more than max to have enough for the whole revolution.

Great concept and well polished graphics. Interesting gameplay but needs more than one run to understand in my opinion. Which isn't necessary bad thing. Very solid game~!

THIS. IS. AWESOME.
I freaking love the pixel art, the music, (and the theme and the message behind it ooooops), the game is really well executed and interesting!
I felt it a bit messy at the beginning though. For example, you can fire your influencers fine, but the graphics helper show what you will gain when firing them, it would have been more useful to see how they contribute each day instead. After some games you're use to these of course.

Again I really loved it so congrats!!!

@barbiche
Thank you for your kind words!

We debated this while creating the game but we thought it would be clearer to show what you will gain instead of what you already gained, mainly to keep the consistency of what the buttons do (Indoctrinating, Letting go and Executing Influencers).

Generally, you could say we had some problems with communicating how you should play and what each UI element meant, and it's great that you're giving some valuable feedback on that. And that goes to everyone that has commented so far!

Cool idea for an game, the artstyle and audo really felt like it was on the level of a game which had way more time but the which bothered me was that it was a bit unclear what each resource was exacty and which one I should prioritize.
Other then that still a pretty cool game

What a well crafted game. I loved the intro. The game looks and sounds really good. Unforunately I did not understand how many days I had left and I also didn't quite understand the importance of the start and weapons resource. I feel like a little more detailed explanation would have been great, and also showing your the change of your stats at the end of a day would be helpful, instead of just showing them slightly on the UI.
To clarify this is complaining on a really high level. This game is awesome and really impressive for a jam. So well done!

I played the latest version.
Awesome idea. It definitely caught my attention. Loved the cut-scenes. Music and sound affects were great. All-round pretty polished game. Well done.

I was slightly confused at first and had to play a second time and read the tutorial again.
IMO if the game is played using the keyboard, the UI (menu and tutorial) should also be interactable with keyboard.
Esc menu mouse position was a bit off. Needed to aim much higher to click on continue and accidentally quit twice.

@nsadie Thanks!
The game being keyboard interactible is a good idea and we shall implement it.
Moreover, the pause menu being off should be a resolution problem. I will look into it anyhow.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enojoyed the game.

Cool theme, cool pixel art and very humorous, but my screen somehow cut the tutorial and I cannot read it whole, so it just was a lil bit confusing, but it feels very strategic, I'll try it later again in other PC!

Really liked the idea and execution (no pun intended). I didn't quite understand what was happening at the end really during the phase where I was executing my followers.

I agree with those who say that the game is hard to understand at first. More (or more visible) feedback about your resources would have been welcome. Awesome game, anyway!

Great take on resource management. Overall it feels very polished save the communication issues that've been talked about.

If you ever need to explain anything that isn't clear feel free to put it in the game's description here. Sometimes we've all need to slap on some last minute explanations :)
