I still don't understand the purpose of the executions in the end, i didn't notice any diference in the resources.
I think if the ui was more clear with the numbers in the influences, it would make more sense (Is hard to understand if the influencer is taking or givings resources).
Possible Bug Notice: The Screen flicks before transitions.
My favorite things:
--> The pixel art is very clear and polished.
--> The cutscenes are dramatic and impact-full.
--> The music choice is very cool.
PS: You should probably opt out of the audio category since you used music that is not made by you during the jam.
That was an awesome resource management simulator. The whole system was a bit confusing on the first playthrough, but after I got how UI worked it got much easier and more enjoyable. The only complaint is that having fully filled star or weapons isn't enough to get a victory as apparently max amount of resources isn't capped, and you need a bit more than max to have enough for the whole revolution.
I freaking love the pixel art, the music, (and the theme and the message behind it ooooops), the game is really well executed and interesting!
I felt it a bit messy at the beginning though. For example, you can fire your influencers fine, but the graphics helper show what you will gain when firing them, it would have been more useful to see how they contribute each day instead. After some games you're use to these of course.
Again I really loved it so congrats!!!
Thank you for your kind words!
We debated this while creating the game but we thought it would be clearer to show what you will gain instead of what you already gained, mainly to keep the consistency of what the buttons do (Indoctrinating, Letting go and Executing Influencers).
Generally, you could say we had some problems with communicating how you should play and what each UI element meant, and it's great that you're giving some valuable feedback on that. And that goes to everyone that has commented so far!
Other then that still a pretty cool game
To clarify this is complaining on a really high level. This game is awesome and really impressive for a jam. So well done!
Awesome idea. It definitely caught my attention. Loved the cut-scenes. Music and sound affects were great. All-round pretty polished game. Well done.
I was slightly confused at first and had to play a second time and read the tutorial again.
IMO if the game is played using the keyboard, the UI (menu and tutorial) should also be interactable with keyboard.
Esc menu mouse position was a bit off. Needed to aim much higher to click on continue and accidentally quit twice.
The game being keyboard interactible is a good idea and we shall implement it.
Moreover, the pause menu being off should be a resolution problem. I will look into it anyhow.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enojoyed the game.
If you ever need to explain anything that isn't clear feel free to put it in the game's description here. Sometimes we've all need to slap on some last minute explanations :)
