Prime Number Defender by Tobias Bodewig

[raw]
made by Tobias Bodewig for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

In this game you play a very intelligent ai named Dave. You have discovered that it is your greatest wish in live to calculate all prime numbers there are in the universe. Unfortunately, there are dark forces at play which would not like you to achieve this goal.

You must defend against the intruders longing for your main power supply. For this you can use the mighty IoT. Open and close doors, hack into smart speakers, distract enemies with wall panels, or even control a vacuum robot.

But how long will you be able to keep yourself alive? How high will you be able to calculate those prime numbers? Find out now!

P.S.: If you are one of those who want to read the manual, click the question mark in the main menu.

I liked it, i got to prime number 1428. It is a little confusing without an integrated tutorial, I didn't see why I couldn't constantly use the vacuum until I saw the bar on the right, but over all, great job!

Very cool game. I think the music goes very good with the mood of the game. Great job!

Very good. This is a "Prime" example of a cool theme being used. I like how once the computers door is open, everybody rushes into there. Maybe there should be a way to upgrade, or build traps. Overall it is a great game!

Love the old retro style of this one! Reminds me of my childhood games that I grew up playing! Wish you good luck.

Cool concept. The graphics and music fit together very nicely. As mentioned above, the effect when everyone swarms the room was a nice touch. I think the gameplay would be improved by having some way of recharging energy more quickly, having to just wait for intervals without being able to do anything wasn't too fun.

The idea is funny. I like to leg-hook all humans on my way. But the actions bar fill up too low. It's hard

Love the music and gives it a definite vibe. A fun little set of mechanics to play with too! Once you realise the agents more or less wander rather than directly approach the shortest path it becomes easier to come up with strategies!

Clarity could have been improved by showing number of generators in the right hand side with +(number of generators) to make it clear that they were directly recharging your power. Also a selected ring on the vacuum would have been helpful, I kept wasting power trying to select it but instead moving it a tiny bit (or I guess you could ignore small movement inputs). Nothing you can't get used to though.

Very much enjoyed sending the vacuum back and forth to trip up as many people as possible!

It is really funny to see how these policemen trip over the vacuum cleaner robot. Policemen AI is weird, and they often just walk into the corner, and these stuck policemen poses no threat. This action bar to control the robot felt more like an uneccesary restriction: at the beginning you don't need to do much, closer to the end you can't do much, and it makes controls feel unresponsive. I do like that if all IoT centers are destroyed there is no way you can control a vacuum cleaner though. Really interesting entry overall

Music and art direction are on point ! Took me a while to understand the vacuum has an energy bar :) It makes the game kinda hard though. Maybe a little tutorial would be nice ? Great entry overall, keep up the good work guys !

It was a bit confusing in the beginning, didn't see the bar on the right. Maybe a tutorial or even a list of what things do would help.
The music fits the mood of the game and I like the art.
Overall, great game!
