Keep me alive #iamthevirus by Romaric

[raw]
made by Romaric for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You are the virus, while the doctors are working on a vaccine and people are wearing masks, you have to survive and kill as many people as possible.

This is our first Ludum Dare, not a lot of time to work on it but we are happy to have something in the end ! :)

Addictive game. Reminded me of plague inc. There was an issue with the Text being covered by the game. I can see myself playing this for hours.

It's nice, efficient and it's a good idea with the thematic. Good job !

The game looks and sounds good. i only have one thing to complain about.
During your tutorial i got the impression that the game was turn-based and that every time i clicked a doctor or a immune person would spawn.
But instead these spawns seem random after some time and the strategy game turns into a click-fest to spread before the population has to many special attributes in it. I am just wondering, whether that is intentional or not.
Despite that it is still a nice game.

@ugghmaster you are right, the game is turn based but I added some random events (after 5 to 10 seconds of inactivity), I wanted to force the player to act I think. I don't know if it was a good idea but it's too late to change, thanks for your feedback :)
@littlemiky @epsulon @soupornoghosh thanks you all !

The concept is excellent, and the graphics are really well done. The only complaint I have is: the rules are explained, but not their significance. The first time I played, I couldn't figure out the importance of Doctor tiles until it was too late and the map disappeared before my eyes. Overall, I still had lots of fun with it.

interesting idea and well tutorialised! I can see the design decisions behind the turn-based vs realtime aspects and I think they work really well. The theme was well implemented and gives a real (if small) insight into the current crysis, even if it's a little strange seeing it from the virus' perspective. It all ties together well, really good job!

Also, fantastic audio! It's tricky to avoid annoying music in a game like this but you nailed it

Great fun game! The music is really good. My head was moving along the groove as I was playing! Also, I should appreciate the gameplay mechanics. Such a dark interpretation of the theme yet it feels fine to kill the doctor who is making the vaccine. Thumbs up! Best of luck.
