I really like the artwork, the music, and the sound effects. The game has a clean look and feel to it.

I didn't like the input scheme, partly because I don't have a mouse with the middle button. :) So I couldn't create any new creatures.

It may have been better to randomly generate power ups so that anyone can play for a high score.

Good job!

I really enjoyed this! The gameplay mechanic is intuitive, simple and fun and the graphics look really good! There's also a really consistent and natural difficulty curve. Nice job on this one! :)

Everything looks and sounds really well. It's pretty simple but that makes it easy to pick up and that's good so good job! The autofeeder is too good tho. With lots of them they have more than enough food

Nice game! The animals and the sound are cute and the idea of using gun to keep thing alive is interesting!
At the beginning this game made me busy but the Automatic Feeders helps a lot! And it won't be a good choice to expand the area too early because the animals will walk farther and you need to move longer.
The three upgrading buttons are easy to be ignored, more tips will be better.

Shoot to feed ! the complete opposite of a shooter, that's why I clicked on the game. The graphics and the difficulty (at first) keep me playing :) For me, the sound of auto-shooter is too loud when you are near. Upgrade options are too small above the player. It can be nice to know the price of the options. I was hoping new animal, but didn't know when I will be able to add them. (PS : why not put ''Play'' in the middle of the screen ? It didn't fit on my screen.)

Nice artwork and sounds, especially enjoyed the effort put into making the character look good when facing and moving in different directions. Follows the theme nicely.

The game did seem to slow down in pace after you get a few mice and the upgrades become more expensive.

The music did get repetitive quite quickly! I think if you want to use a short music loop, it needs to be simpler

The first thing I noticed was that those graphics were really good, and the gameplay was fun too.
One thing I noticed was that the music seemed to be coming from the center of the level, and it was kind of strange having the music from one ear to the other depending on where I moved. Also it would be nice if the auto-feeders would prioritize hungry animals rather than closest animals, but you could definitely argue it's an intentional choice to make feeder spamming less effective.
Overall, quite a fun and well-polished game!

Neat visuals! I like the element of balancing placing feeders and spawning animals but expanding the area seems to just make the game harder, because all the animals spread out.

It's very well done ! Really clean. Even if it's getting very easy, it's very satisfying to maintains your Koala factory.

Okay, so this is probably the game I've played the longest from this Ludum Dare.
I started out slowly by setting up 'cannon's all over the place, my goal was full automation.
I ended up at 34 animals, all able to maintain themselves with the cannons without me interfering. I wanted to go further, but I looked away to write this, and when I looked back I was somehow gameover, not really sure how that happened? My animals were still alive.
Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and the art style set the perfect mood. The audio was okay, at least it wasn't annoying :-)

It was a nice take on the theme!

If you plan on doing a post dare version, let me know, and consider making it possible to save your progress, I would like to see how far I can take this.

Kudos for a job well done, and thanks for sharing!

Overall a really good complete entry! I enjoyed that it was a complete simplistic experience that "just worked" as intended.

Couple of minor feedback and improvements
- Would be nice to have a hover state over the upgrades on what they do rather than relying on the player to read the submission page.
- Upgrades that you cant purchase are greyed out and have a hover state to tell you how much you need. I often found myself just waiting wondering how much the need auto feeder cost.
- As a balancing thing would be nice to have a max amount of feeders or animals per room size.

If you have a minute or so to check out my entry I would really appreciate it :D https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/ld-46-tower-defense/

Nice game good job !
If I had to make some remarks :
-you could move to animal count to the sides, out of the arena to not hide anything
-what is the point of increasing the area's size ? Isn't it easier to keep everyone in a thigh space ?
-I think that you don't need to had a reload bar for your gun. Everyone expect a gun to have some reload and not shoot indefinitly, there is no real need to show it

Thanks @timetravelhamster @benjamintausen @chispalbc @joshuarabbit @mad-jester @gurglesprain @p53 @bongo227 @maka @mekuri @alexhicks @adinimys @cookiera and anyone I missed out. Thank you for your compliments and your amazing feedback and constructive criticism. I will further develop this game and make sure that i have a better UI, less repetitive sound and other things you guys have mentioned. All this is very valuable to me and I learn a lot from this.

Also I will make sure that I play everyone's games before the submission ends. :v: (Just caught up with college submission. But I will start as soon as I get the chance 100%)

@mekuri , I do plan on taking this game further. You can follow my itch account to stay updated. I probably add more animals and fence etc. Add a save option. Answering your other questions. For each animal that dies the points lost goes up 1000% (1st animal - 10, 2nd animal - 100, 3rd animal - 1000 etc). I do plan on changing it and adding a better way to lose. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice mix of (anti) top down shooter and tower defense! Spent some time trying to optimize my space to feed them all. But I don't quite understand why should I expand the room if it's making it harder to keep on track on every mouse. I'd better make mice destroy the wall around when they bump into it or give a player goals to expand the room to a certain size with certain amount of mice. Nevertheless, great job!

@n-feofentov hey thanks for playing my game. And those are some great tips to improve my game. Will be making those and potentially fences to keep the animals moving within an area. Thanks!!!

Nice game! As people said, there should be some incentive or so to expand the area. This concept has great potential, I kept playing until the first death. Maybe you could punish the player for overfeeding the animals.

(The window also doesn't fit on my screen when I open the game.)
