The Last Meal of Winnifred by Rusty Jim

[raw]
made by Rusty Jim for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Capture2.JPG Winnifred is hungry. They're pretty sure they're the only being left on earth. Can you keep them alive until they eat their final meal?

Use the mouse to arrange objects and help guide Winnifred to the food.

Anyone who can successfully finish the last level...? You're better at the game than I am.

I don't know what Winnifred is, but I do know that its the reason I won't be able to sleep tonight.

It was an interesting game! I wasn't able to finish the game, but that was partly because I couldn't completely understand the way Winnifred jumps on things, partly because of objects rotating in the z-axis (i.e., away from the screen so that they lengths and shape kept changing out of my control) and mostly because your description said that the last level was hard (although I don't know how many levels there are). Honestly it's not so encouraging when the designer says that they had trouble with their own levels, especially for a puzzle game! The physics and Winnifred's jumping actions felt unfairly unpredictable at times, but if that can be sorted out, it could become a fun game. Good job!

Its a pretty fun game. Its very impressive that youve manage to make this as a solo dev. One issue I have with it tho is that objects can rotate in quite strange directions making the level unwinable. But I think all in all its an enjoyable and good jam game. Good job!

Fun game! I love it! awesome graphics, and nice music. A lot done for a single person in 72 hours. One thing is that some levels are extremely easy and the next is extremely hard (For example the last level of world 1 is extremely easy (I just used the long pole as a ramp.), but the first level of world 2 is extremely hard). Just my opinion, and maybe I am not that good at the game.

I Like it. Who doesn't turn into a hungry Winnifred from time to time? On winning a level the camera sometimes jumped out of scene but thats just a minor bug. Really fun game.

Nice nightmare fuel on the character design haha, making it must've been fun!

Catchy music, weird atmosphere, I kinda liked it! At 2-2 it got a bit too hard for me, and how the pieces could fly around everywhere and being a bit unpredictable is something that can be worked on.

Anyways, you did a good job!

Cool idea, but it has all the issues of physicas-based puzzle games. The simulation is not very stable, the physics is not believable and what one would expect (e.g. the mass of objects did not correspond to their visuals), and on multiple occasions, the physics engine catapulted critical puzzle pieces out of the scene. And once it also happened to poor Winnifred :)

The music is fine, and the graphics... is not my preferred style, but it is fine for this kind of game. Though personally, I think that a 2D view (and physics simulation) would make more sense, and in the end would be more stable and playable.

it has a really unquiet art style and the physics engine is really unstable which is usually a bad thing but it makes the game really fun when fling things across the map and i think for some of the levels your suppose to manipulate it.

Yes the unstable physics are wonderful, accidentally flinging trees around was great!

nice and understandable. Though supper buggy. And Winnifred is super disgusting dude. 5/5

Nice game: my only issue is that piecies moved on the Z axis. It will be better if all the pieces where locked in two dimension

Creepy, weird game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Kfcxq_4FEeU

This was a lot of fun. The music was perfect, the instructions for each screen were subtle yet informative, and the graphics were strange and charming. Those physics though! They made things considerably harder but also a lot more fun when random crates or even Winnifred would just fly off into the air for apparently no reason. Good job!
