The last flame by shevek

[raw]
made by shevek for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Description The last magical flame is in your hands, you must protect it from wind and monsters to save your city from extinction.

Capture1.PNG

Colliding with NPCs to bring them into your army, once your army is formed you can create formations to face the wind and the enemies.

The world is traversed by great wind currents that may extinguish your flame, to prevent this put at least three troops with shields in the direction of the wind.

Send your soldiers with swords on the front line to face the monsters and prevent them from killing your protectors and extinguishing the flame.

Very nice game! Quite hard to master, but the mechanics are interesting and the controls well chosen. Good job!

Well done! The gameplay was interesting and the mechanics unique. At some point two of my armymen seemed to get a little stuck in each other, but it was just a tiny bug that didn't disrupt the gameplay, other than that it felt really well polished!

Its a really nice game, but the wind is a bit hard. Sometimes I had the feeling I was sure I'm standing behind my shields but still my flame went out. Still a really great game, and really polished :D

Very interesting game, very innovative. Definitely felt like the wind was a bit choosy as to if I was behind my shield guys or not, which felt unfair at times. I really enjoyed the lore and the concept behind it.

Absolutely brilliant concept!

Sometimes it feels a bit random when the wind damages the flame. Nevertheless, it's a nice game. Especially liked the music, it was so epic. Reminded me of WoW a bit. Great job! :)

Nice concept, the art and music are pretty good, too :). I wish there were alternative keys for the army orders(I don't have a numpad on my laptop), using mouse clicks is a bit more difficult.

Pretty fun, but I feel the wind should be more forgiving, or there should be some kind of indicator that shows when the shields are or are not protecting the flame

I really liked the game the only thing I didn't understand very well is how to protect the flame with the rest of the team :) But the music made really epic this game. Congratulations :D

The game was pretty cool ^^ It looked really polished and the graphics were really pretty. Some variety would have been pretty nice so it wouldn't be the same map over and over again, but it was a pretty fun experience nonetheless. Sad, that it had no ending and that there was a limit to the soldiers you could have.

Good morning, @DrSkort. Sorry for my English ;)
Thanks for your feedback. We didn't have time to add more maps, but we would have liked to.
However, the game does have an end ;) After a while, you arrive in another map where you have to put down the flame, which ends the game. Thanks for playing the game, and we're glad you like it!

Hey that's a very interesting game, I did however think the army position could have been a bit more intuitive maybe use direction pad for army setup and wasd for movement. Great job keep going!

Ithink the music really adds a lot to make the game feel fun and push the player forward. The UI is actually pretty good and has a consistent feel all around. Mechanically I'm confused. Do I need to be standing still to not have the wind effect me? Does the position of troups effect anything? Also this game has an ending but I have no way to tell how close to winning I am. Maybe add a proggression bar. Other then that good job!

@invader-civic-ziur to neutralize the effect of the wind you must place your troups upwind.
Thank you all for your comments !!! :)
