A Bolder Wizard by parahunter

[raw]
made by parahunter for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

GameplaySmallSize.gif Do you like vanquishing undead armies? Does rigidbody physics make you droll? Do you dream of wearing a pointy hat and throw boulders around? Oh boy I got you covered!

Mainly made to play around with Unity's new DOTS physics so prepare to deal with 1000s of enemies on screen at the same time!

WASD to move, Mouse to shoot

My best score is 239. Can you beat it?

What is better then hordes of enemies with physics, nice music buy the way... on the end there was so many of power balls so enemies dying immediately... and on the end it was pretty laggy because of millions of dead bodies :D... on the end pretty nice and funny

Simple but so fun.

I don't know how far you can finish, I gave a score of 93 and I think it could be done somewhere over 100. But then I would have to buy a new mouse

type for others: stand on the side, aim on the other side and click on your life

Great job man, Nicely done :v:
Yet I find the game too short as the difficulty curve snaps too quickly!, also the FPS drops at a certain point due to large number of models in the scene; I suggest you set a max number of enemies at the scene to make the game playable for longer periods.
Other than that outstanding job, Keep up the good work!

A very funny game about zombie fluids haha. Well done, I really enjoyed studying unity physics through this game.

Pros:
- Fun physics based core mechanic, that works well with the theme
- Nicely used assets. Clean and fits together with each other nicely
- Didn't notice any signifficant bugs (pretty rare for gamejam)

Cons:
- Even with ECS it still starts to lag at some point on relatively new laptop
- No unlocks or upgrades in terms of weapons

Can't go wrong with physics based zombie survival game. It's pretty fun game, especially at the beginning. I would add some progression, because at some point even bouldering zombies might get monotone, however jam games aren't expected to be played for a long enough, so I see it only as a minor issue.

As you explain this feels a bit like a test turned into a game but it is still fun to play and quite impressive to see all these physicalized meeples flying around. I guess it gives you lots of perspectives for other projects !

Good job! Performances are incredible!
I (painfully) reached 190. Can't click any more haha.
The game is fun to play, even though an upgradable auto click might have been a sweet addition.

Wow, so many zombies. Which is great. I love the low poly art style. I'd love to just be able to hold down the mouse button instead of constantly pressing it. Great entry, good job.

Getting laggy around 150 but I managed to reach 206, but became kinda tired of clicking at the end... Maybe removing some bodies after some time would greatly improve the lag, but this mass of enemies is pretty nice to destroy anyway

This does feel more like a tech demo, but man, it *is* fun to knock about hordes of the undead.

The mood in this is great and it was super satisfying to watch all the enemies bumping into and bouncing off each other. It would have been great if there were more options to kill enemies than just spamming boulders

but still, you accomplished a lot working by yourself in the short time frame. Awesome work!
