The Witch's Tower by SparklyRainbows

[raw]
made by SparklyRainbows for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Move with arrow keys or WASD. Press space to pick up and move your turrets (you can't build turrets while carrying a turret).

Turrets fire when the orb inside them hits a loop! Build your turrets in strategic positions to maximize damage!

**If the loops seem to bug out, or the orb disappears, pick up a turret that's part of the loop and place it again; that'll reset the orb positions and (hopefully) fix the loops.

Made by Jasmine Zhang and Titilope Akinnitire in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 47: Stuck in a Loop.

You've got a nice game here. I like the concept. It was not too challenging, but that is expected from a Ludum Dare game. So overall pretty cool experience :)

PS: The music is really cool and spooky

cool I didn't made it very far. I didn't fully understand that with the orbs and the loops

The concept is cool! Also very cute graphics. The algorithm for the turret range must have been interesting!
Took my i bit to understand where new money comes from.

I really like the concept. There are a few issues: No win state, healer turrets are to powerful, and no progressive difficulty. Don't take that the wrong way, I loved what was there. Good job and great atmosphere!

I love how all the assets (sound, visuals etc) work together to create a very coherent game.
I had a lot of fun playing, great entry!

Nice Game! Fun little turret shooter. Easy to grasp and a nice way to spend time. Really nice art style too.

The turrets seem a little inconsistent with shooting and range but these are small bugs in the grand scheme. Well done

I love tower defense games! This one could use a bit of balancing because I'd gladly play it for longer - Now, after 5 minutes I'm overpowered. Also, the paths were a bit confusing because it usually indicates the enemies will take those pats... But I loved it a lot, great work!

and I seem that I broke the game everytime I press Space a turret spawn and I have nearly infinite turrest lol and this happens from the start of the level maybe it's putting turrets down but you forget to make the money go down or something, pls ping me if you fix it I would love to give it another shot

Other than a few bugs on the occasional run, this game is super fun and refined, and the art and sound design helps package it all into a very entertaining time!

First impressions: The game feels rapid and responsive & the art is really really nice, style is really consistent which is pretty hard to do in 2 days. The only thing that didn't seem to fit as well was the font, but that's pretty easy to switch out. I ran into some bugs with the loops too, but overall the loop overlapping was pretty impressive - kudos.
If you guys keep working on this, it would be cool if there was also a mode where the enemies followed the paths :)

Nice job though, gobears!! :bear:

I like the concept and the audio and visual feedback was nice. Really nice mood created althought the game mechanics could do with a lot more polishing. There were few occasions when all my loops just disappeared, all the orbs flew away and I had to build a bunch more. Space seemed to duplicate rather than move a turret so that was a littl op. I'm sure this will be an amazing game with a little more polish but it's a really good jam game!
