The lich feast by geroblacksmith

[raw]
made by geroblacksmith for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

A human enters an abandoned catacomb exploring with a torch, he then meets an ancient undead, a "Lich", who promises him power in exchange for serving him. The lich transmits his necromantic powers which he must use to create an army, defend the Lich from the invaders and get fresh bodies for him to feed!!.
Finished the game just in time for the final hour!. We had more gameplay elements, animations and sounds to add but we are very happy with the result! BattleNecromancer.pngLairLich.png

I liked the retro style of music and art, with only 4 colors and chiptune music.
The mechanics were interesting, although i think the need some more user feedback of what you are doing.
Good job!

@danyvk Thank you!! We run out of time for making more animations and sound effects.

There is a bug that allows the game to go on forever. Despite that i loved playing it, a good concept and it makes sense with the theme :D Good job guys!

This is a great idea, art and music are spot on!! You should 100% release a post jam version fixing the small bugs and adding the features that you missed but wanted to be there! Great job!! keep up the good work

Some feed back for actions, especially the fighting and feeding would go a long way

Nice game, right now it feels to basic, with more work I could be fun. Personaly I think it needs some quality of life inprovements (feed all button, summon all button), more feedback and something to make it more stategic. Keep working on this, it looks nice and has potential.

Loved the characters. Soundtrack fit perfectly. Took a minute to figure out the buttons, but easy to understand after that. Nice entry!

I found it was lacking a little bit of visual feedback or animations to go along with the events that were happening. That being said, I did find the take on the theme quite interesting, and I like the mechanics you chose to use.

The fact that you need to choose to either feast or summon, and the effects it has on your army, was actually quite interesting, and I can see potential in that kind of mechanic!

The idea is there, however the game seems to be lacking a bit. Hope you can build on that.

Really nice game but it lacked some basic elements such as an ongoing audio or instructions as to what to do. Otherwise it was a great game!

I agree with others, the game idea is great. When I saw it I thought It would be a lot of fun, but I got confused as there were no instructions and didn't know if I was fighting at all, until I saw the small text saying you won the battle. This game can be improved and be a very Nice game. Hope you guys keep on it and build something amazing.

It's a nice little game, but I feel like the instructions could be more in-depth. The graphics were nice to look at and I like the music and the mechanics have plenty of potential. The only drawbacks are the lack of animations and transitions from one screen to another as well as SFX. The mechanics are interesting but they lack any sort of drawback or threat as well as the combat system being super simple to me. That being said I do understand it's due to lack of time, but if you do intend to continue this project with the suggestions I've listed I think it could be a great game. Good luck!

This game has potential and the sounds & music are nice.

I wished there was more strategy involved in deciding whether to feast or summon. Summoning 2 units and feasting the rest of the corpses seems to be the best strategy every time.
