I would have loved to give the audio a bit more time, especially to add some music. I just need to lower the scope for my LD Games
A few improvements, I think for a 3D platformer, depth perception can always be tricky, having a drop shadow for the acorns (even a faked one with a texture) would make the collecting experience much smoother. Also the world felt quite big to me, instead of a spurt control, I would prefer the default speed to be 'spurt speed' and Left-Shift could be a 'walk' control instead when the player needs more control.
Overall very impressive for a jam entry, good job!
Really great work for one person in that short amount of time. The information that the squirrel can glide would have been really helpful for me also after spending an eternity to find that last acorn I was hoping to get some kind of success message but these are really small issues.
Good job & thanks for your entry :)
While scoring i realized that it doesn't have much to do with the LD theme but i guess that is subjective.
It was a bit difficult to see how far away the acorns were though. I never was able to get the one at the end of the diving board
I also have to say it's really a good thing someone mentioned there's a glide mechanic in the comments. I went back and looked at the tutorial screen once again and notice a distinct lack of any documentation for the mechanic and was extremely angry trying to get that last nut!
Otherwise, it's like most collect-a-thons, including the leap of faith collectible, which I also didn't enjoy as much. However, otherwise I had a good time playing this one. I think with a little more playing with the movement of the squirrel, you could have an interesting 3D platformer idea here.
The real trouble with the game is the size of the world. It's incredibly large for just 10 acorns and no enemies or any other kind of gameplay. I played the game for around 5 minutes, but I was only able to find 7 acorns. I couldn't even *see* the other 3, and I stumbled upon a couple of them by complete accident.
I'm also not too sure how this has anything to do with the theme.
It felt weird to slow down when jumping with sprint and jump camera was a bit jarring.
Still, glide felt like the most interesting mechanic. Wished there was more verticality to provide more opportunities to glide.
Lots of content with clean graphics, big terrain with lots of assets, but felt a bit slow navigating all of it. That could be addressed either with increasing movespeed, or by having smaller horizontal area and bigger vertical.

Overall it was an interesting experience being a squirrel.
