Technical Details
The game was made in Java with the libGDX Framework ( https://libgdx.badlogicgames.com/ ). We made all the graphics ourselves, using Illustrator ( https://www.adobe.com/de/products/illustrator.html ), Photoshop (https://www.adobe.com/de/products/photoshop.html ) and Tiled ( https://www.mapeditor.org ) for the map. All the sound effects were created with assets of the ‘The #GameAudioGDC Bundle’ (Part 3) (http://www.sonniss.com/gameaudiogdc2017/). The background music is "Aria" by Kimiko Ishizaka from https://freemusicarchive.org

Sounds like my day haha. Well done.
I actually quite like the idea and implementation. There might be some notion of making it to day end and the next day being harder but that's just another layer on top for later, not sure if there is currently an end game, seems like it could go on forever!
If you continue working on it, some variety of task descriptions and solutions could be cool too, I saw a few problems and a few solutions, maybe there is more I didn't see :)
The effect when you've had too much coffee was a really nice touch!
At some point though, the phone stopped sending me messages so all I had to do was drink an adequate amount of coffee. But maybe that just makes it more realistic ;)
I wonder why is the interactable emergency exit there, but maybe that would come up later in the game.
Incredibly fun take on the theme! I loved the setting and I loved the character blurbs when the characters didn't have a task for you, those added some nice personality (like Bill's tragic past). Gameplay was fun too, I liked the idea of dashing around costing energy, I felt like that provided a nice tradeoff between time/energy. All around a very good game, great job!
Best IT job.
I liked this one, because of the IT references, and kudos to you for trying to use libgdx!
A few notes of improvement:
- It would be nice if the tutorial was skipable. I tried skipping it and broke the game drinking too much coffee.
- As mentioned above, ignoring the phone calls seems to have no penalty.
- I did encounter a bug where I ran out of calls, but happiness was at 100%. Game win?
- I really like that you added some dynamic 2D lighting. It's a nice touch.
Would love to see more minigames similar to putting out the server fires, but I think what you guys made in the jam is great! Art looks really good, game is fun to play, and of course very funny. Great entry overall!
