Roll A Loop by Tristan10Cats

[raw]
made by Tristan10Cats for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

In Roll A loop you try to keep the rollercoaster running as long as possible. Build track to make sure your rollercoaster doesn't crash. Make sure to pay attention and be fast enough, or you'll miss your chance!

explScreenshot.png

Go through an endless rollercoaster ride, randomly generated so no two playthroughs are the same.

Try to get a higher score each time, the rollercoaster gets faster as time goes on! normalgameplay.png

Most importantly though, have a good time with it. As I had a good time making this. :)

The gameplay is good, but as for me, there are not enough sounds

Cool concept, once in the flow it was very fun. I think putting the 3 kinds of pieces on different buttons on the keyboard would have made my reaction time faster, now it was sometimes hard to look back and forth from the pieces and navigate the mouse toward the right piece. A little sound would also have livened it up. The difficulty rise was pretty good, I did not feel pressured at the beginning to learn the mechanics. Keep it up!

I really liked the slow speed up progression and the scoring. Starts getting really intense! High score 38.

it took me quite a few tries before I got the hang of it, but once I did it was pretty fun.

I like how it starts going faster and faster to increase the difficulty. I agree with what @lamasaurus said, having hotkeys to place the pieces would have been appreciated.

Cool idea. Could see this getting more variations easily

My train kept falling off the top of the loop and dropping out the bottom of the world, so I couldn't really get it to work. Looked interesting though!

Strange happenings with the carts falling off the loop and the track going below the parallax graphics over time, but the concept is there and it works pretty well. Simple and kinda' addicting concept, nice work.

cool idea but like other people have said it could use some variation on the puzzles. maybe just increase the amount of wrong choises over time? but overall a really solid game

Awesome, a fellow theme park themed game - we almost did a rollercoaster game too before settling on a merry-go-round.

Had some trouble going off the track in teh loops, but seemed to fix it in fullscreen mode. I dug the simplicity of the choices in placing the right track which at first seemed too easy, then rapidly became much harder. A great entry all up, good job.

I like the idea. It's unique and clever. The game is actually pretty fun and nerve-racking at the same time.

I think, however, that it really needed some sounds and music to sell the experience a bit more.

Overall, well done!

Cool idea, liked the implementation of the theme, but choosing the track pieces felt like you need dumb luck to choose the correct one. after multiple retries I finally got to a total score of 1.

I really like this game. I love that the options show in different orders every time so you have to look up every time which adds to the chaos of having to react fast. My high score was 37!

I liked the concept. With some polishing and small additions it could make for a fun little mobile game.

Was easy to understand and it would be awesome if you could fly with the carts. Score: 25

Very fun game but it lacks sounds and more variety, still i had fun and managet to get score to 40

Cool, unique concept! Would be even better if there were sometimes multiple paths that you could decide on depending on what track piece you place, with some of them having obstacles.

I do feel the game could be picking up speed faster, as the first 20 or so parts are quite easy to place and it may put off people from trying again if they have to wait so long.

This is a very nice game, I really liked the increasing difficulty and the mechanics. I think it could definitely do with some sounds and keyboard controls, though. Overall, a very fun game!
